Putting a call out to my network for suggestions! I'm currently putting together a Year in Review on nutrition, metabolism & dementia for @istaart.bsky.social PIA for Nutrition, Cognition & Metabolism! What papers made an impact?

Cognition researchers, we need your input as we gear up for our Cognition PIA Year in Review webinar! 💫 Please share your favorite 2025 papers & insights on recent advancements in our field. Take this survey (alz.surveymonkey.com/r/FSG8RXX) and ensure your input is included! @istaart.bsky.social
Then ended the trip returning to my ACNS roots! So great to see old friends and make new friendships for life! Also, getting to see my other supervisor on the big stage was a proud supervisee moment for sure!
Then I got on a train to Geelong + finally made it to the Food & Mood centre to give a small presentation on my work! This group has inspired me since day dot. Not sure I would’ve done a PhD if the food and mood centre didn’t exist! It was very cool to learn about all the upcoming projects there!
I also got to my first ever ASPP.. wow such a brilliant mix of minds! Very much looking forward to the next 1! First pic taken from James Kirby’s very cool talk… and the second is of my poster on a secret theory I am working on 🤣
Presented my final PhD study @ OHBM, which probs turned out to be the most interesting! Paper coming soon!
Also got to see our labs work brought together for the first time @ Frini Karayanidis’s keynote talk (if you look closely you may also notice someone with great hair sitting in the audience)
Celebrated by hiking NZ! Not a sponsored add for HMRI btw 🤣
So I did the thing and submitted my thesis earlier in July (actually on my bday to be exact!)
I’ve had the privilege of enjoying the coffee in Melbourne for a little over a week .. oh and while I was there I actually did some things!!
Hi Bluesky! Have been a little quiet on here so here is a little update (that nobody asked for)
Same! Maybe see ya there!!!! 🎉🎉
Interested in hippocampal dynamics and their interactions with cortical rhythms?
Our physically constrained model of cortico-hippocampal interactions - complete with fast geometrically informed numerical simulation (available at embedded github repo)

2 great poster sessions at OHBM this week! Thanks for everyone that came by! Definitely feeling like I am standing on the shoulders of giants @drbreaky.bsky.social
En route to @ohbmofficial.bsky.social conference in Brissy. Not complaining about this first stop o
Some good journal club picks for the week 🎉 @shawnprest.bsky.social @drbreaky.bsky.social
Looking forward to presenting our work on cortico-hippocampal coupling and wave-wave interactions as a basis for some core human cognitions

Thermodynamics is one of my favourite disciplines in physics. Temperature influences everything, including neuronal dynamics. Fascinating connection between thermoregulation, heat and brain dynamics in this new preprint:
It has been a great day in the lab raising awareness for brain health and for our project looking at MRI scans and dog-assistent interventions. Watch out for @carolinefaucher.bsky.social in action on TV.
🧠✨ New #Research on #Meditation
Jhana meditation alters brain networks, as shown via geometric eigenmode analysis of 7T fMRI data. academic.oup.com/cercor/artic...

New phd motto as I get closer to the end 🤣
Do you work on surface MRI such as HCP data? Our paper is finally out in Imaging Neuroscience, showing biases in surface fMRI. The revised ms has many new insights!
TLDR: Vertices are much closer to each other in sulci, resulting in (fake) high spatial autocorrelation. (1/5)
Reading as a I take my daily B12 vitamins this morning (with doubt) 🤣

This year I’m aiming for 30/30/30 challenge - 30 g of protein per meal, 30 g of fibre per day, and 30 min of exercise daily 🏋🏼♀️
I think I hit my target here 😀
When your lab buddy brings in organic spinach! Thanks Jodie!!! 😍
I’m looking forward to attending this tomorrow (in the morning for my fellow Aussies)
Not to late to register!
