Watched a clip of Chippy at QT trying to get Luxo to answer one question about how phases 3 and 4 of the fuel plan would work and he's there going "well we'd work with business instead of happening to them like YOU did" to cover up the fact that he has no idea. Because they haven't written it #nzpol

As far back as 2023 (a year after parliament protest) this infographic captures the domestic+transnational #disinformation ecosystem linked to Cyclone Gabrielle. The report has much more detail. Climate change denial's scale, & sophistication in NZ is far greater now, which I also flag. #nzpol

Not a big help but there are some useful and easy plants that can be foraged, even in the city. Nasturtium flowers and leaves for example, nutritious and make your poor mans meal more gourmet. Find a big old container of some kind that has been thrown out and grow some easy green onions or a hot pepper plant by your doorstep. Start small but it all helps towards body and mind.

Anytime I write about backyard gardens being no solution to food insecurity I get a barrage of furious comments disagreeing with me.

I guess some things never change....

My fave is the one about foraging nasturiums 👀

Someone tell Willis that at no point in any polling since the previous election have National been able to form a government without forming a coalition again with either NZ First or NZ First & ACT

Labour however could form a govt with NZ 1st sure but why would they have Greens & TPM? #NZPol

Apart from the (lack of) morality around threatening violence against Sam Neill, it's seriously bad PR that makes one wonder just how thick these people are.

Going after our Uncle Sam is like recording yourself kicking puppies or clubbing baby seals.

Coalition Government announces crackdown on floodwaters The Coalition Government is finally forcing floods to "move on", by passing new laws of physics.

NZ's Coalition Gov't is forcing floods to "move on", by passing new laws of physics under urgency.

Unlikely that Mother Nature will pay any attention regardless.

Diesel stocks hit new low, but in-country stocks remain strong Diesel stocks have dropped to their lowest level since the Strait of Hormuz closed and public tracking began.

More sub-ed weirdness: which is it? Strong or low? Strongly low, lowly strong? Crocodiles are strong but low, is that the sort of thing they mean?

Australian company plans $3b lignite-to-fertiliser plant in Southland Victorian Hydrogen says the plant could deliver 1.5 million tonnes of urea fertiliser using Southland's lignite.

Let's be clear: much as they try to dress it up, this would amount to a new coal-fired power station in Southland. Please, can we just NOT?

AMAZING!!! @christchurchlib.bsky.social councillors voted 12 to 1 to end discharging wastewater into Akaroa Harbour, to right a cultural wrong and to protect the blue tourism environment & economy by discharging very highly treated water to trees/land & not an ‘out of sight out of mind’ ocean option

Infrastructure Commission to oversee major projects under new government plan The government it is shifting oversight from Treasury to the Infrastructure Commission.

It wasn't Treasury that made you announce $50 billion worth of trophy roads we can't pay for, and the Infrastructure Commission has already told you what a bad idea that is. I don't think either of them are the problem here. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

The comments from both senior ministers on RNZ's Morning Report signalled the election campaign has well and truly begun, with Willis also saying Peters was "mischief-making".

She went on to say that Labour was "choosing to get into bed with the party that referred to Indians choosing to come to New Zealand as a 'butter chicken tsunami'".

Willis' comments were on the weekly Morning Report political panel alongside Labour's Tangi Utikere, who she accused of being in a party that was "courting exactly the same concerns that New Zealand First are trying to whip up" in regards to the New Zealand-India free trade agreement.
