A photograph I took last week in my local woodland. There is a small sycamore sapling with newly unfurled green leaves surrounded by bluebells with silver birch trees in the background.

I'm more pessimistic than optimistic on this #EarthDay 🌎 I've been saddened by crimes against wildlife in my local area, and the loss of trees and habitat both locally and globally. But it's always worth saving as much as can be saved of our natural world.

It seems the only 'vetting' right-wing loons need is the approval of the media, establishment, and financial backers. Checks and balances don't apply, as they don't to Trump and Co. Farage and his Reform goons continue to get away with things that would scupper any politician branded on 'the left'.

I've reached the stage of bad gallbladder where everything I eat makes me feel ill 🀒

He's got a suspected cruciate ligament tear in his right hind leg. We were hoping he wouldn't need surgery, but he probably will. πŸ˜ͺ

It's over £800 for a vet x-ray on a dog's leg? 😨

I hope Reform voters understand what we are in for if they succeed in abolishing the NHS. Anyone with a pet must surely see how expensive treatments are both with and without insurance. We've got insurance, but the monthly payments go up every year.

I really do feel as if I'm cursed at times. I've finally reached the top of the gallbladder removal list, and now my little Benji might need an operation on his leg. 😒 It was around this time last year when things went to hell. Please, no deaths of loved ones this year! I really couldn't take it. 😭

Beautiful woodland flowers seen on today's walk. Bluebells, lesser celandine, wood anemones, and greater stitchwort (I think!)

There is so much beauty in the world. I'm so mad that someone like Donald Trump could destroy it all on a whim. Not that I would be happy with anyone destroying it. But Donald Effin' Trump! I will die mad if this is how the world ends.

There is so much to wrap one's head these days. But America destroying itself (and a large proportion of the world) for Donald Trump of all people is really quite something.

Before the bluebells take over in the local woods there is still some lovely turkey tail fungi (Trametes Versicolor) around. #FungiFriends

I have so many horror stories about the care of disabled children and adults (of all ages) in care homes. The profits these companies are making are obscene. It's almost impossible to get anything done in terms of criminal prosecution, etc, even when the worst kinds of abuse have happened.

On yesterday's walk, it was lovely to see marsh marigolds blooming around the statues of Robin Hood and Little John in Sherwood Forest.

Eyam is still marketed as β€˜The Plague Village’ and its history is around every corner there. I guess it doesn’t hurt to have a memorial window in the local church. I like that they have a rat weathervane on their museum as well. 😁

Yes, I suppose it's not uncommon these days. More people seem to be choosing cremation over burial. Families are often separated by distance and opinions. It's not as if I'm religious or a believer in the afterlife. I've got my memories and my mum will always be with me in my thoughts and heart ❀️

All I can hope is that there are enough good people in this country to stop Reform ever getting into government. Once they get the keys to the kingdom it will be too late. We only have to look at Trump and his bunch of crooks in the US to see the horrors Reform will unleash if given the chance.

Thank you ❀️ Yes, it's been an emotional time. I don't know if spreading my mum's ashes far and wide was the best thing. But it wasn't my decision. I got 2 small urns, my stepsisters got one each, and my stepdad is planning on taking the rest to scatter in places they loved to go on holiday. xxx
