Mutual aid is magic. I couldn't do any direct action for a few years, so I paid for some local harm reductionists to rent a storage unit for their supplies. They have since stopped doing outreach, so they gave the free store the entire contents of the storage unit. It always comes back around.
We saw two day laborers, pushing a cart of supplies and a generator. Our mutual aid table called them over and gave them free dinners, water and clothes.
We fed folks that were unhoused. And folks who came out their apartments just to come to us.
It’s why our mutual aid is called Everybody Eats.

Great article about an amazing mutual aid group in LA. Couldn't have asked for a better hub in LA to work with during the wildfires. At the peak we were sending a full truck of aid a week- very few mutual aid groups can handle that volume.

And here's the thing, young folks are STILL engaging.
Mass protest is just not the focus, at least in my experience.
The young organizers I know are doing internal community work, mutual aid, whistle distro, ICE signal networks.
It's deep work and it is necessary work.
