That's awesome thank you for sharing
It’s time we rethink how we move around and plan for future mobility on a human-scale, elevating Chicago as a truly world-class city. See the proposal for @worldbizchicago.bsky.social Horizon Lines 2050 Vision, with @chicagogrowthproj.bsky.social

ICYMI over the weekend, we've launched a new website for the CrossTowner regional rail vision.
96% of the CrossTowner vision is already built. As NITA launches in about six weeks, join the campaign to finish the final 4%: it's time to #BuildTheTunnel.

Let people build more housing
Logan Square's new farmers market sits perfectly within the park, pedestrian plazas like this should be in every neighborhood
'Top concern of parking' means that we need to not only expand transit, but encourage units with direct access to good transit. Only way to prevent density from turning into gridlock
Think it definitely would help incentivize some needed investment into the area. Stay tuned for an upcoming proposal I think you'll like it
What would it take for @chicagocta.bsky.social to install these at every station?
CTA Slow zones inch down on some lines, worsen on others. We should be pressuring them to get this to below 5% on every line
"When we build housing near a train, with less parking, we encourage a different kind of resident to move in: someone who doesn’t own a car, or someone who’s ready to finally get rid of the car he or she doesn’t want anymore." chicago.suntimes.com/letters-to-t...
Maybe Illinois street from McClurg to Peshtigo
I haven't been there before, its gorgeous. Agreed bus terminal could use a facelift
What's the address I'm unfamiliar? Here's how CDOT defines it: www.chicago.gov/city/en/site...
Argyle is already a shared street -- why not go one step further and get rid of the cars altogether?
Wondering the economics of @divvybikes.bsky.social , how much is each ride subsidized? What would it take to subsidize it further to grow ridership or integrate fares with CTA?
Yes love to see when they trial these sorts of things and they succeed. I hope to inspire a future where we trial them every summer then they become full time ped only (minus deliveries)
Looking for good contenders on the west, southwest, and south sides. My goal is to envision one commercial/pedestrian plaza for each neighborhood
Cont.
Fulton Mk - Fulton from Halsted to Morgan
River North - Hubbard from Clark to State
Old Town - Wells from North to Schiller
Gold Coast - Rush from Oak to Cedar
Loop - Adams from Wells to Wabash
South Loop - Polk from clark to state
Chinatown - Wentworth from cermak to 22nd
Some clear answers I already have for the North side are
LP - Broadway: Diversey to Oakdale
Wrigleyville - Clark: Addison to Newport
Lincoln Sq - Lincoln
Andersonville - Clark from Berwyn to Foster
Uptown - Argyle from Winthrop to Sheridan
Let me know if you disagree
What are some 1-2 block segments of streets that should be pedestrianized in Chicago?
I hope its correct but with transit projects these days its hard to know. Some things like having an existing road make it cheaper, but wanting gold standard features like pre-paid boarding or signal priority often require additional enabling work, like utility relocations or roadwork adding cost
It may cause some blockages but I doubt it would significantly hamper service
@chicagocta.bsky.social Western BRT can be the shining light of the Bus Priority Corridor Study! Make it happen
If it costs less to build more might get built. Although thats not the major barrier to these projects
