Well I ran out of tshirt tubes so this is as big as it gets--about 24x20, so a good bath mat size. Twining uses substantially more material than regular weaving but it's nice and plush feeling

Two woven bead patterns made with pony beads. the one on top has a rainbow thread warp with light green, blue, and yellow pony beads woven onto the warp in a repeating checker pattern. This piece is in progress. The second design uses white beads in the background and creates letters, each with a single colour; 'C' in red, 'H' in orange, 'L' in yellow, 'O' in green, and 'E' in blue. The warp threads are black and the weft threads are rainbow.
I'm so proud of our kids 🥹
For our PA Day Camp on Friday, we made up some cardboard looms and taught them bead weaving with pony beads. This took patience, this took dexterity, and this took vision - all things we've found Gen alpha struggle with and 👏they👏showed👏up!

a wrist wears two bracelets made from pop-tabs also known as. aluminum tabs. The first has woven together from aluminum tabs laid flat with two mango yellow leather cords weaving the two layers of tabs together. The second chain is made from linked aluminum tabs, 4 tabs make each link and attach to the next 4 in the chain. Bellow the arm wearing the bracelets is another woven pop-tab bracelet in progress woven with black ribbon.
So I learned a new pop-tab weave recently and I absolutely love it! I've been testing it with leather rope, ribbon, upcycled rickrack, and bias tape and seeing what holds up best.

a woven blanket with a hole has a verticle warp of threads on a brown, green, and white weave. The warp is more golden than it is brown so it stands out slightly from the surrounding pattern.
The blanket's flower pattern has a sloppy over under weave running through it where the hole once was.
An elegant green and white zig-zag pattern has been woven over the back of the same hole on the blanket. It's edges are clean and the pattern stands out on top of the reverse flower pattern from the front of the blanket.
so Ive been trying to make at least one side of this seemless, as in do a darn from the back to there's no bump on the edges of the mend and the hole. I think I did okay first time around. On the back I couldn't think of how to do it seemless again but not look.. messy. So I relented and did a patch
A grey and white cat sits like a loaf on top of a woven blanket with scattered holes in it. A book on darning lies open on the blanket and a needle and threaded with warn has started created a the warp of a weave over one of the holes, but the cat is either oblivious of the work being done, or just doesn't care and wants to be close.
A yellow brown yarn is woven through a blanket over a hole in the weave. The brown c Yarn is a little more golden than the burlap like brown woven into the green, brown, and white woven floral pattern.

Finally started the mend on my sisters campfire blanket. I'm starting with the small holes to get used to mending something like this. Its three layers of Yarn in the weave which Ive never worked on before. Im challenging myself to make both sides seamless if I can #visiblemending

a child wears a cardboard mascot like mask about 4 times the size of their head. The mask is round has a large mouth, which the wearer can see through, with square teeth of varying lengths. The eyes on the mask are huge, circular, and white, with tiny pin pick pupils.
I think this is my favourite thing ever made at one of our summer camps!
Last week was Summerween Camp so our younger kids made low poly animal masks, and our older kids made huge cardboard masks from scratch 🎃

behind a white button on camo patterned pants you can see the thread wrapped around the base of the four threads holding on the button. The wrap helps keep the button tight while also maintaining a small distance between the pocket and pocket flap when closed.

I've been off work since Monday and today is the first time it actually felt like it. I spent part of the afternoon practicing sewing buttons on my flower combat pants.
