Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm getting older and just being nostalgic but it has been a hot minute (around season 11 or so maybe) since the show had people compete that really feel like authentic personalities that didn't take out a loan and create a persona specifically for the show 😟

You know how people sometimes message you "can we talk?" or "check your mails" or something? A huge green flag I appreciate so much is when they add something like "it's nothing bad" or "just wanted to show you something." It's such a small thing that makes life so much less stressful.

A β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… review of The Craft: Legacy (2020) "We literally house babies in our stomachs. That's some Ridley Scott shit." Maybe I'm a basic bitch but I really vibe with a lot of the modern horror follow-ups. I loved Blair Witch 2 AND the Blair Wi...

I'm a certified horror remake enjoyer so I'm not even surprised that I liked The Craft: Legacy way more than most people 😁 #filmsky #horrorsky

I requested a manual review for this one like half a year ago, it never happened

I see, so it's not a different rating, more about how we got there. Thanks 😁

I don't even get the meaning of it here, is there a "soft" R rating for films?

Rep. Finke Was Right: Age-Gating Isn’t About Kids, It’s About Control When Rep. Leigh Finke spoke last month before the Minnesota House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee to testify against HF1434, a broad-sweeping proposal to age-gate the internet, she began with

Age verification laws are really just censorship mandates clothed as child safety proposalsβ€”here’s why. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy.

We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.

Names of Athenian Triremes: Investigating Group Cohesiveness and Social Identity in the Athenian Navy of the 4th Century BC - Journal of Maritime Archaeology The set of inscriptions known as the Naval Inventories of Athens (IG II2 1604–IG II2 1632) provide a wealth of information regarding the state of the Athenian navy in the fourth century BC. The inscri...

I guess I didn’t wake up thinking I needed to know the names of the 279 named triremes ⛡️in the 4th century BCE Athenian navy, but it appears we all do. link.springer.com/article/10.1... I do like that 3.58% had animal names like ΛΡοντῆ (lion skin) and Λέαινα (lioness). Greek epigraphy is fun! πŸͺ¦

Just watched Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara skate the free skate of their lives after falling behind yesterday.

It was so incredible to go from watching their tears of sadness the day before to their tears of joy today.

From 5th to 1st.

One of the best skates I've ever seen in my life.

I'm not a fan of Malinin, not just because his skating isn't my cup of tea but more importantly cause of his homophobic comments & the whole charging fans to talk to an AI chat bot impersonating him thing but it was still hard not to feel bad for him, it was THAT disastrous.

That was wild, I guess the people who were worried about men's figure skating becoming too boring & predictable will breathe a sigh of relief. #figureskating #MilanoCortina2026

Watching skating at the Olympics after both Yuzu and Shoma retired is kind of bittersweet. Feels like such a different world. I was still rooting for Team Japan (let's not get into the scoring ugh) but I'm super happy for Amber Glenn πŸ’œ (much less happy for the homophobe on her team but oh well)

A Corinthian delight: three examples of ancient caricatures. The pyxis at the top shows a child-like Herakles drawing water from a fountain. On the lower left, a kylix depicting a woman playing the usually all-male drinking game kottabos. On the lower right, Artemis and her curious dog. 🏺 1/

Really not a fan of having to go through my Spotify Discover Weekly first to get the AI slop out now every week. The worst part is every time I block one of those "artists" Spotify's algo probably takes it as "play less from that genre" and not "play less AI slop" 😠
