Being mutually beneficial in business and being friends are two very different things.

Today’s lesson is that a united Irish left can win elections and win well.

Will Heather visit the disenfranchised in the six counties during her campaign or will she be true to FFG practice of ignoring us.

Next Irish president is a likely to preside over preparations for Irish Unity.

As potentially the most important constitutional issue of their term, would like to hear candidates discuss Unity and media raise questions and issues during their campaign.

100s of British joined the IDF, went to Gaza and assisted with the genocide.
They returned to Britain and went back about their business, with British Government, police etc. ignoring their crimes.
But chasing Kneecap suits their political objectives and helps distraction.

Kneecap member charged with terror offence — BBC News Liam Ó hAnnaidh, 27, has been charged after allegedly displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah, the Met Police says.

British still flying reconnaissance flights over Gaza to assist Israeli genocide but deflect spotlight by going after Kneecap, who’s crime was to draw attention to Gaza.

By the way Belfast is full of UVF flags but you don’t bother about that.

Yes it does.

A cowardly decision by Government.

My father, UCD graduate, lived in North all his life, regularly received candidate election material & voting forms for Seanad elections.

As for venues to vote, there’s 100s of schools & community halls that would be delighted to take part.

Difficulties aren’t in the North but with Micheál Martin.

All news outlets are referring to ’hostage’ release.

He was a soldier in an elite military group controlling the fences of a concentration camp.

The only leverage he had was to threaten to pull out of the competition.

Instead, by announcing that he won’t, before even commencing discussions, demonstrates that that this is just a penurious public relations exercise.

Have had my Irish passport for 51 years and still can’t vote for a symbolic President who represents the Irish nation.

Talking about stupid, this is the kind of post I would expect on X.

I note your account has one post but dozens of replies to others. A bit of a sniper.

Are you based in Tel Aviv?

BBC interviewing 101 year old lady who is more concerned about discussing the horror of war, losing friends and the need to talk to avoid the horrors.

A lesson to everyone.

Good thing about RAF fly past is that it leaves fewer aircraft to airlift bombs into Tel Aviv.

Interesting all these people in uniform on the balcony with high ranks, lots of ribbons and medals, who have never served anywhere in combat.

First Canada, now Australia electing centre left Governments in a snub to the politics of Trump.

English Council & Bye elections however buck the trend reflecting the underlying British love of military and ‘strength’ abroad but are assured their media (and history teachers) will hide it from them.

Irish Unity would upset stranglehold Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael have had on Politics for past 100 years.
Their unwillingness to face issue is based purely on self interest and preservation of their gripe on power.
It’s why Micheal Martin and vested interests like Irish Times oppose it so vigorously.

A northerner should run in the Irish presidential election as a reminder of the abject failure of consecutive governments to give Irish citizens in the North a vote in presidential elections.

We can run for the office of the president, but we can't vote for our president.

Yesterday, British soldiers that murdered captured IRA men at Clonoe were officially exonerated.

Irish Government are still acquiescing to British power and assisting in the implementation of double standards.

But then Northern Nationalists never mattered to Irish Gov.

Physiologically it’s emotionally important to Northern Nationalists as nothing would formally recognise our Irishness as much as a Presidental vote.

It won’t happen.
Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael feel position is largely in their gift and fear thousands of Northerners voting for a Sinn Fein President.

As Irish citizen living in Co. Armagh, who considers self solely Irish, who has been subject to others trying to deride and deprive me of my citizenship, concept of voting for largely ceremonial president would mean a great deal.

Additionally certainly don’t consider myself part of any diaspora.
