SCOTUS isn't arguing the actual merits of birthright citizenship, they're arguing about the ability of courts to stop blatantly unconstitutional government actions. SCOTUS seems inclined to say everyone has to sue individually or as a class to remedy harms even when the actions are unconstitutional.
Prior to the civil war, armed citizens in the north confronted US Marshals and vigilante slave catchers to prevent them from abducting Black people who had escaped slavery. They had the moral clarity to resist the greatest evil of their time.
