Hundreds More Nazca Lines Emerge in Peru’s Desert (Gift Article) With drones and A.I., researchers managed to double the number of mysterious geoglyphs in a matter of months.

Who else made big shifts in their passions? Before #womenshistory, I did archaeoastronomy in the desert of Peru. Exciting to see new lines with new tech. Love my current work, but I'll always be an ancient astro-geek. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/23/s...

Thank you! It was wicked fun to research. RI (my roots!) gets a tiny scene in the story!

Thank you, Kelly! I would be very happy to see Agnes find a home in US History/Gilded Age/Women's History classes!

And when not tracking down a previously unknown "girl spy," I watch the Great British Baking Show, try to perfect my macaron, and noodle on the ukulele. Also like cats (and yes, those rolled cuffed jeans were all the rage when I left for college in 1979!)

Hello from Maine to one and all! I'm a history prof intrigued by the extraordinary experiences of ordinary women. Looking forward to new connections and excited to share the result of my best research day ever in my forthcoming book, Alias Agnes: the Notorious Tale of a Gilded Age Spy (April 2025).
