I think I need to make known that I can help with computery stuff, especially anything related to standard websites, social media etc.
I need money, and clearly making cute beanies prolifically won't cut it, overall. That's a nice addition that means I skate by, alas without thriving.

Aotearoa Te Waipounamu citizens: community solidarity
Please consider submitting feedback about this proposed Immigration Amendment Bill
the implications are shite, surely breaches human rights

can say that although Meridian doing a specific solar offer (17c), it comes along with increased line & daily charge so doesn't look worthwhile for me (been a reminder to always check the fine print 🫠)
similar with getting solar/waiting on installation
had been looking at transferring to Powershop (for buy back rate) but will keep an eye on it for now

the way auto captions have taken over and fucked the quality of subtitles everywhere... has anyone written about this?
not that I've seen & would appreciate it
😱
The new TVNZ+ app upgrade has captions only for the first episode & no more
so I'm still waiting to be able to watch the series
one plus for the upgrade is now I should be able to cast to TV 🫠
Politicians from every party should be asked to put their stance on ICE on the record.
This is what fascism looks like - and as the Desmond Tutu quote notes, “if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”.
😂
thank you!

if you're adding image description and its of a flooded road
- if you *know* where, for sure add that detail
- if you don't know, just give the basics e.g. "pic of flooded road"
someone else can add in the detail if necessary
note: if you're not from or in the area, please don't guess or make assumption about specifics (e.g. of road or landmark or if a certain evacuation centre is accessible or not) = thats not what's needed from you
Aotearoa Te Waipounamu: if you're in a position to (safe & dry) and noticing lack of accessible comms about the disasters happening - help out with adding image descriptions, transcripts for any videos with audio, checking if theres accessible version & linking/sharing that
& share info re: access
I just think we’ve kinda normalised working through crises and disasters, and that potentially isn’t for the best.
my reality is that it makes sense for me to stay connected to grid, at least initially, as I need to balance what system I can afford with how much capacity it'll provide
I'll be getting something that should cover me for most of year but maybe not quite in winter
Another thing that didn't occur to me 🤦♀️ is if you're still connected to the grid, you still going to get a power bill for the lines charge portion at very least
It may be that you'd export enough to cover part or all of that cost
I thought getting solar would allow me independence from all that
🥳🤯
you'll need to consider what might need to be running at any one point in time (& this will be the case regardless so hopefully already familiar concept)
if you're planning to be connected to the grid make sure you talk this goal through with the installer
you'll need to know what can be powered if the power cut switch is tripped & using the battery
e.g. my system will give me partial back up, lights, outlets & not oven or hot water
A selfie of my head and shoulders I am wearing a maroon top and a denim jacket. I have red lipstick on and am smiling.
Hi lovely people, I am starting my own business and need some experts in my life!!!
Do I know any of the following on here that could help me with:
- accountant - re tax/paying myself etc
- cyber safety
- social media marketing - what to spend & where
- people in the aged/disability care sector
yep & need to know that you'll be getting the correct hardware for what you're wanting it for
I hope I've got more realistic expectations of the system now but heck a steep learning curve (& no doubt continue to be a journey)
