It's a weird idea, but what if Horus and Seth were always meant for one another and that's why they were affected by the temple? Horus made an interesting comment when they re-entered the temple stating how he's happy the ancient god recognized him to have the ceremony with Seth+

An odd thought:
Seth already had a history of sex before the Formless Temple, so shouldn't he already have undergone a "coming of age?" Why would he be affected if that's the case. Another note, that temple is used for "good breeding" +
