Fabulous day at Rye Harbour today - 55 species of birds seen/ heard included a Spotted redshank, Sandwich tern, Common tern and Golden plover. Plus what I think is a recently emerged Downy emerald dragonfly, which seems very early @britishdragonflies.bsky.social

The Storks at Knepp are pretty special to see @kneppwilding.bsky.social . You get great views from the trails around the estate.

Butterfly transect week 2 at Horseshoe plantation - plenty of Speckled wood, 2 Orange tips, one Green-veined white and 2 Peacocks. Plus Brimstone and a Large White off the transect route. 15 individuals in total on transect. Makes a difference having a west wind on this site ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our 2026 butterfly transect at Belle Tout started today. An easterly light breeze reduced the amount of shelter for butterflies, so all we saw was a single Peacock and a single Speckled wood. Fingers crossed for more favourable weather next time ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
