Fraaie promotie van Marjanne Oosting op de Jiddische roman Di mishpokhe Mashber (1939) van de Sovjet-joodse schrijver Der Nister. Zij betoogde dat er naast een Sovjet-realistische laag een diepere joods-mystieke laag in de roman zit. Het was een voorrecht haar te begeleiden de afgelopen jaren.
