Agree about the dishonest comment not sure about worst. David Cameron created the mess we face today started 14 years of austerity and the rest that followed. That created the ground for Boris Johnson to thrive.

Sorry freudian slip its not a fine but compensation about time rogue bosses paid for breaking the law.

@tuc.org.uk good news for working people. Surprised that the lords would delay helping ordinary working people. Unlimited fines for breaking the law will certainly deter people lime P&O ferries so is the right thing to do

Continued….. A vote on keeping healthcare in the US without linking to a shutdown is will be important. A denial of a vote will be just as important.
Republicans have a choice give a vote or deny a vote this year. Or give American voters a choice in the mid terms to reverse the cuts!

I watch with it interest the decision to end the shutdown in the USA. A swallow doesnt make a summer. so a victory in New York New Jersey and Virginia doesnt make a summer. In the UK voters are anti governing party as it is safe to do so but will they vote the same a general election? Continued..

I like Andy Burnham and have dealt with him in my previous job. He would make a good leader. His knowledge experience and his time out of that Palace of Varieties at Westminister would also be a bonus. But what is also needed is change in the Labour Party. A broader church would help

Obviously as a BBC host I’m hardly impartial. OTOH the polarised - in both directions - comments on the FT piece very clearly show the challenge. Here’s a representative one… R4 as ‘violently-left’…

US health care is rife with high costs and deep inequities, and that’s no accident – a public health historian explains how the system was shaped to serve profit and politicians Research shows that decades of policy choices shaped today’s fragmented health care system – which is precisely why reform is so difficult.

The US health care system's high costs and inequities aren't accidental – they're the result of decades of policy choices prioritizing profit over people and entrenching racial hierarchies, says a #publichealth historian. buff.ly/qDyWBxp
