Chemical and isotope analysis of copper-based metal objects from Bronze Age Möriken-Wildegg, Switzerland finds some of the copper may have been sourced from Cyprus, suggesting an influx of Cypriot copper into Central Europe around 1400 BC.

For a formal survey, we’d refer to them as ‘surface’ or ‘near-surface’ finds but they still have context. A chance find to us is a bit of an orphan. You might not formally explore the context further or it could be something handed in by a neighbour or local person. Hope this helps 😊
