Without action by government in this year's budget the University cannot continue to meet its core responsibilities - it touches on everyone. Just today in the news - cuts to the number of social workers that can be trained here. The long term consequences are dire.

One of the ways to address the cost of living crisis is for workers to take home more pay, and the best way to accomplish this is to form a union.

Government must reduce the barriers that exist to workers organizing their workplaces.

Workers and their families are forced to make "tough decisions" on basics while while corporations and billionaires rake in massive profits.

Another 4 - 6% increase in food prices will make it even tougher on people who are already struggling.

Striking Alberta teachers forced back to work by fast-tracked legislation, notwithstanding clause | CBC News Bill 2 passed early Tuesday morning after a long night for lawmakers in the provincial legislature. Premier Danielle Smith’s government introduced the legislation the day before.

Shame on the Alberta government for using legislation to strip workers of their right to strike and to free and fair collective bargaining.

We stand in solidarity with the teachers and all workers who oppose these heavy- handed measures.
