Since @napari.org just released 0.7.0 I also checked if my to little plugins still work and released new versions with some small updates.

Howdy folks, if you purchased a ticket to today's April 1st workshop, you should have received instructional e-mails on both Sunday and Monday. If you have not received them, please reach out here or send an e-mail to info@napari.org
Thank you! Looking forward to the workshop!
I used @napari.org (specifically the animation tool originally by @guiwitz.bsky.social) to project the time series into the Z dimension and cellpose (@computingnature.bsky.social) to segment the cells, I can send you a code template if you'd like?
Friday fun with:
pyapp-kit.github.io/ndv/latest/
pymmcore-plus.github.io/ome-writers/
github.com/zeiss-micros...
- run an acquisition in ZEN
- capture the pixel stream via ZEN API
- write it directly to an OME-ZARR using ome-writers
- display it in the NDV viewer.
Also works with @napari.org 😉
I'm happy to present our new tool, EpiCure, a napari plugin to ease correction of segmentation and tracking of epithelia movies, developed in @devstempasteur.bsky.social
Since there are so many great new features *and* we are busy prepping for our first of the new napari workshops, we promise to highlight the release in upcoming posts!
p.s. Tickets are available for the workshop, using the 0.7.0 bundled app, starting in 26 hours. Register: ti.to/nf-projects/...
napari 0.7.0 is available now! 🚀🎉
It's a BIG release so read the full release notes, with highlights: napari.org/stable/relea...
We want to thank everyone who has worked incredibly hard on this release including our 11 new brilliant contributors 🤩 and the community for their support and feedback!
There are still tickets available for next week's Pacific workshop! ti.to/nf-projects/...
You could be a part of the very first pilot online workshop! 🥳
Even if a workshop if full, please sign up for the waitlist! We may have cancellations and it also helps us gauge the interest in these workshops.
Thank you for the feedback so far! 0.7.0rc1 is now out. Barring any major issues, we'll be releasing 0.7.0 this week!
You can test the rc using `python -m pip install "napari[all]>=0.7.0rc1"`
First paper as first & corresponding author, out in PLOS Computational Biology! 🎉
napariTFM brings traction force & monolayer stress microscopy into napari, accessible via GUI; open-source, validated and no coding required. 😉
Check it out 👇
Speaking of units and axes metadata, try out the newly released napari-metadata (napari.org/napari-metad...)! This nifty plugin is available on pypi, conda-forge, and in the bundle. You can visualize and change layer metadata on the fly. Feedback especially encouraged! 😇
We would especially like feedback on:
1. Using napari with python 3.14 and the new Qt6 default backends (included in napari[all])
2. The behavior of the new layer buttons changing how metadata is inherited
3. And trying out the new unit-aware rendering
Check out and give feedback on the latest pre-release 0.7.0rc0! You can install with `pip install "napari[all]>=0.7.0rc0"` or via the bundled app. 😁 🥳
The release notes, with highlights, include so many great new features and changes: napari.org/dev/release/...
Since these are pilots, we don't have discount codes for these workshops. We will be offering more workshops in the future!

BIG UPDATES!
OCTRON now supports the new SAM3 models (alongside SAM2)!
We’ve also added a global switch for Detection vs. Segmentation: Use the same annotations to train either lightweight detection or full segmentation models. Plus, we’ve added support for the new YOLO26 models. ⤵️

Rewrote my Python bioformats wrapper (from aicsimageio/bioio) as a standalone package:
- fully bootstrapped Java setup (just pip install)
- lazy, repeatably-indexable Array object
- fully spec-compliant OME-Zarr group obj.
- xarray/dask exports

I'll never get tired of lazily browsing elastix-coregistered #WSI data in @napari.org using the upcoming @openmicroscopy.org ome-zarr @zarr.dev format version that allows to specify and read transformations directly from the image data itself.

Time is running out to apply for this year's @royalmicrosoc.bsky.social Intro to Image Analysis course in Cardiff - deadline is tomorrow!
Spread the word!
Great team effort, with @retof.bsky.social and more! Most imaging performed with with a snouty equipped Oblique Plane Microscope. Rendering done in @napari.org.
Kind of flew under the radar, BUT we released napari-omero 0.6 recently 🥳 @openmicroscopy.org
You can now down-/upload ROIs from and to OMERO inside @napari.org 🤩Bringing the power of napari for annotation to the management of OMERO :)
Thanks @psobolewskiphd.bsky.social and other maintainers!
Thanks to everyone who has donated already, and thanks to @aganders3.bsky.social for the animation! 😍
Do you love quantifying animal behavior as much as we do? We have just the tool for you! Presenting #OCTRON - a pipeline that helps you create rich annotation data and enables training of custom segmentation models. Have a look, particularly if you work with non-model / invertebrate organisms!
