It resonated personally. You really captured fundamental aspects of organising and leadership. Peter also had a good session with colleagues at the @aob.nl

Always grateful for a plug Jelmer! I’m happy to see this work getting picked up in various places. Fantastic work by ZNP using Your Turn 1 and 2 last week. Delighted to see people engaging with it and applying it in their own context.
An overlooked (and very frustrating) part in organising is the internal part. You have to bring the union and your colleagues along. And that requires strategising, compromise (constituencies ECE to Highered). This very recent work by @howardstevenson.bsky.social is crucial

“Our vision for a fully-funded public education, where a professor can write and teach freely, and can challenge every vapid, cruel argument federal and state governments make, sustains us. It’s what we’re fighting for.”

Hearing about the building to win project, identifying concepts behind engagement and then discussing that into concrete ideas was a really valuable part of today’s #UCU #ARPS AGM
We're kicking off this afternoon at the #UCU ARPS annual meeting with guest speaker @howardstevenson.bsky.social from @uonucu.bsky.social, talking about the Building to Win project. Situating our struggle & challenges in wider trends in tertiary education and the union movement in and beyond the UK.
In an unprecedented move, one reflective of the deeply unprecedented times at our university, UoN branches of three different unions (@UCU.org.uk, @unisonorg.uk, and Unite) have all successfully passed motions of no confidence in the Vice Chancellor and the entire executive board.
@etui.bsky.social and ETUCE will launch the book “Governing Artificial Intelligence in the Higher Education Sector” on 4 March at 17:15 in Brussels. Join us for a discussion on AI, governance, quality, and working conditions in higher education.
NEW: AAUP President Todd Wolfson & council member Chenjerai Kumanyika sat down with the hosts of the excellent Citations Needed podcast to discuss the acceleration of Trump's assaults on American higher education & how the AAUP is fighting back.
