Moving academics to subsidiaries moves them to entities that (1) may not recognise #UCU, & (2) even if they do, are outside national bargaining, even if those subsidiaries are wholly-owned by unis who ARE in nat bargaining. It’s not only bad for members, it’s bad for the whole union, for all of us.

We are very disappointed with Heriot-Watt's response to our proposal to settle the dispute.
They have not moved one inch and remain determined to threaten staff with compulsory redundancy
Therefore we have no option but to return to strike action, Wed to Fri this week and Mon-Wed next week. #ucu
