bsky.app/profile/math... That’s because the Cambridge website is for 2026 entry until it gets updated in a couple of months.

Found out in #MathsToday that Cambridge have announced that they will now use both the TMUA *and* STEP for entry to the Mathematical Tripos from 2027 which follows Oxford’s decision to swap MAT for TMUA last month. #ALevelMaths teachers take note, source here: www.christs.cam.ac.uk/study-here/u...

This should say not definitely rejecting “H_0” of course. Long day which included chi-squared tests for association: Reject H_1, there it insufficient evidence to suggest that the variables are not, not independent - I jest of course!

That might not be quite the right wording, need to think on that, but you’re inherently rejecting based on the significance level so not definitive I’d have thought.

But you’re not definitely rejecting H_1, you’re rejecting with 95% significance aren’t you?

Yes, you haven’t proved H_0 so you can’t definitively accept it (Type II errors may be very likely)

AQA allow ‘accept’ but model solutions use “Do not reject H0” in both A Level 7357/3 and FM 7367/3S papers from 2025 and latter even says “Condone Accept H0” in Q6b so don’t do it! Personally, I still prefer ‘Fail to reject’ that ‘Do not reject’ but probably just how I’ve always seen and used.

Sorry I meant for the grade distributions (rather than grade boundaries)

Did you do this for A Level Further Maths this year? Can’t seem to find it among your many other fantastic great and useful graphs and tables.
