Halfway there, and plenty to build on 🌿
Last week, our General Assembly brought together partners, Demonstrator Sites leaders and members of our Advisory Board and Scientific Steering Committee for two afternoons of exchanges, updates and ideas.
A strong moment to connect the dots and look ahead 💫

Last week in Freising, the WILDCARD project team welcomed us for their annual meeting, and together we brought #RewildingThroughArt into the forest🌲
It was inspiring to see scientists, artists and researchers exchange ideas side by side, and how long-term ecological research met creative expression

January 2026 showed real momentum for coastal governance:
• Nature restoration framed as strategic investment
• UN High Seas Treaty enters into force
• Native oyster reefs expanding in European tidal estuaries
Tidal ecosystems are critical infrastructure — not peripheral landscapes. (2/2)

🌿 Our first campaign took place in Cádiz Bay 🇪🇸!
We measured CO₂ fluxes, biodiversity, blue carbon & more across 3 saltmarsh sites — from natural to abandoned to accidentally rewilded
These insights will help us understand how to restore coasts for #climate & #biodiversity
