If we want to build a stronger North Carolina, we must protect our ability to invest in schools, public safety, and infrastructure. We need a fiscally responsible budget that secures our future.

Facts spoken by an ex-trumper...
It is extremely important to remind everyone you know that these “budget challenges” are exactly what GOP legislators in NC have been working towards year after year. Destroying public education has always been their goal. #ncpol #ncga
“The Supreme Court simply ignored its own established precedent, enabling the General Assembly to continue to deprive another generation of North Carolina students of the education promised by our Constitution,” Stein said in a statement. #nced #ncpol #ncga #Leandro

The advisory council co-chairs, Dr. Lawrence Greenblatt, state health director at the NC Department of Health and Human Services, and Robeson County District Attorney Matthew Scott, propose a legal, regulated market for adults, with protections for medical marijuana users. #ncpol #cannabis #Hemp
NC's Constitution requires that children, regardless of county, have access to a sound, basic, and uniform education so they get the best start in life. The Court has abandoned its responsibility to hold the legislature accountable & its responsibility to uphold our Constitution. #ncpol
Since 2020, Duke Energy has raised your bill by 22%. They don’t need to be doing this– Duke Energy made $5 billion in profit last year. But as if that weren’t enough, they’re now asking state leaders to raise your bill AGAIN– this time by another 18%. #nc #ncpol #no2ratehikes https://bit.ly/4c1MqGh

2+ YEARS and the NC Supreme Court still hasn’t ruled on Leandro v. State since Feb. 2024, flipping precedent with a GOP majority.
Schools suffer, NC has no budget, Sen. Berger Sr.’s protests might get decided before our kids’ education & Justice Berger Jr. won’t recuse. #nced #ncpol #Leandro

Reminder that the Leandro Plan would create a network of 800 community schools across the state. Almost 1/3 of all NC schools would be included

4) The NC Supreme Court's post 2022 intervention is corrupt
The case was settled law after the 11/22 ruling. Newby's Court only reheard it because they have no regard for stare decis. Also, Berger Jr refused to recuse so he could rule on his daddy's constitutional violations. That's corrupt!

🚨5 Important reminders about Leandro🚨
1) It is unambiguous that students’ rights continue to be violated
Nobody in the NCGA has presented the case that they're upholding students’ constitutional rights. Their argument has simply been: courts can't make us do stuff against our will.

Under Leandro, the state was supposed to pass a $2bn school bond to help counties with their capital needs. Again, it's unclear why the author denies their readers this important context that explains why these problems exist.

Before a GOP power grab put Dave Boliek in charge, North Carolina had a nationally respected election board. Now, national press like the NY Times are highlighting us as one of the top four potential targets of Trump's election interference. #ncpol

The requirements of the SAVE Act are so narrow that neither a standard North Carolina driver's license or even a Real ID would be enough to register to vote. Call your senators today. #ncpol #votingrights #stoptheSAVEact
With the Berger-Page recount looming, I made a list of all the people who might have a role in the post-election process (from the local board of elections to the N.C. Supreme Court) and also have connections to Berger.
It's a long list: www.wunc.org/politics/202... #ncpol #ncga
The NCSBE is finalizing rules that could purge thousands of eligible voters from the rolls. The proposed rule relies on a system called SAVE, an unreliable federal database, to flag and remove registered voters suspected of not being citizens.

Valerie Foushee statement on Nida Allam's concession in NC-04 primary #ncpol:
“In a state where many people’s rights are on the ballot in November, now is the time for our district to unify in support of Roy Cooper and others who are fighting to flip seats blue."
NC Court of Appeals: “We have no evidence that this blatantly racist monument prevents people from trusting that the Courts are not indeed racist. They can just avert their eyes and pretend, just like we do.”
That’s your takeaway? I didn’t get that at all. The report “…reinforces the importance of addressing the core issues that lead to teacher attrition.” & “Our public schools cannot be best in the nation if our teachers are not adequately compensated, trained and revered. It will take action from…”
