A small packet of wildflower seeds, featuring a cardboard tag with an intricate floral illustration
I’m making 100 native wildflower seed packets to give out at work on Earth Day this year, and I had a great time designing the packaging today 🌸

That’s such a brilliant idea!

An image of California oat grass painted onto linen and dyed with spent espresso grounds
The results of my next dye experiment using spent espresso grounds. The resulting color is a little lighter in person, but it’s still lovely. The plant is my favorite CA native grass, Danthonia californica 😊

Omg, so much talent!! That’s so cute :)
This is one of the most incredible garments I’ve ever seen, truly amazing!!
That’s awesome to hear that that’s a good spot! I’ve never experienced tides as low as they’re forecasted to be, I can’t wait ✨
Ahh it’s so beautiful!! I have been dreaming of seeing one. Do you have any suggestions of favorite tidepooling spots in NorCal? We are heading to the Half Moon Bay area in late May to check out Pillar Point :)
Oh wow this is incredible!!
Thank you so much!! 💕
Oh wow, this is so awesome!! Congratulations!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! :)
Thank you!! It’s a really fun technique, though very meticulous and time consuming- but if you don’t mind those factors I think it’s super enjoyable :)
Thanks so much! 💕
A small weaving of a hopkins rose nudibranch, roughly the width of a quarter. The nudibranch is pink and is woven onto a white background
A gridded design of a hopkins rose nudibranch, made for band weaving
I am going on a short tidepooling trip in May to look for Hopkin’s rose nudibranchs, so I wanted to weave myself a small patch for good luck. Wow this was challenging!! With two colors, each row becomes two rows, so this small friend took about 4 hours 😬

Oh that is so pretty!! Was it fun to do? I haven’t tried it but am curious :)
Pieces of beige linen with a rust colored iron mordant paste painted on in floral patterns, waiting to be dyed in coffee
The start of a wall hanging featuring olive green/grey floral designs on beige linen. The designs were dyed using an iron mordant paste and used espresso grounds
I had a great time doing a natural dye experiment today- I work at a coffee shop and have infinite access to used espresso grounds. The process we tried was painting iron mordant paste onto beige linen and then immersing them in a strong, tannic brew of the grounds. It worked out well! #naturaldye
That’s such a beautiful yarn!
Thank you Andy!! ❤️
Oh wow that is so fun!! I love the color you chose, it looks so cohesive and well done :)
That’s a huge part of the fun of natural dye, just seeing what happens and learning about the impact of all the possible variables 😁
I’m eager to read how the avocado experiment goes! I have a lot of saved pits as well but haven’t tried yet :)
A handmade wooden rigid heddle featuring a polyphemus moth and oak leaves, with 45-thread capacity
It’s done! 45-thread heddle cut out of maple wood 😊 Featuring a polyphemus moth with oak leaves, which are one of the species’ host plants. I’m excited to use this with my box loom once the wax finish cures a little more!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it 💕
A work in progress of a moth being wood burnt onto a maple rigid heddle
My work hours are finally decreasing, so I’m trying to pick up momentum on my heddles again. Working on a very ornate one for myself to get back in the groove 😊

Thank you so much! 💕
Thank you!! I’ve never tagged anything before either, but it does feel fun and like a neat polished feature 😊
Thank you!! That’s one of my favorite things about fiber arts, all the love present in all the hours :)

I knit this hat for my partner out of some textured handspun yarn (I rushed the wool preparation process… many neps were created 😅). I finished it off with a little double sided woven tag- featuring rough skinned newt and big-headed ant, two of his favorites 😊

A hand sewn crotch seam repair on a pair of yellow and black gingham pants. The stitching is color matched to the gingham
Another crotch seam repair, this one done by hand. The fabric had unraveled along the seam and created a hole, so I placed a black fabric patch underneath and reinforced with running stitches- aiming for subtlety!

A gray pair of jeans with holes in the inner thigh, being repaired with machine darning
Did a lot of machine darning for friends this weekend! It’s not the most exciting form of mending, but it does a really good job on inner thigh holes and it feels great to get many pairs of pants back to a wearable state ✨
