I completely pepper-gassed myself this morning, cooking breakfast.
I typically make filling for a few days at a time, so this morning was a big old pile of peppers.
Worth it! It was delicious!

A really cool day for birding today, but the visibility was terrible. It was one of those bland, super overcast days where everything looks grey and brown.

We didn't see the Red-Tailed Hawk this morning, but we did see this Rough-Legged Hawk in almost the same spot, so that's a win!

We finally saw a Merlin today while birding! Also a juvenile bald eagle, a beaver, and lots of different ducks.

Well I'd honestly be surprised if there IS another election, I think he's just doing this as a backup.

Panthro and Gandalf (siblings) snuggle in that little bed and it's soooooo adorable. Both of these cats are weird, but so cute.

We went out looking at cool ducks today at the lift bridge in Hamilton. Long tailed ducks, scoter, and goldeneye were the cool ones we saw.

Honestly I don't even know what to say about what happened yesterday. I'm sad, angry, repulsed, and a little surprised at how public it was.
At this point all I can do is hope the world's militaries are gearing up for the upcoming battles.

My first time cross-country skiing since ... sixth grade I think? Had a blast! I didn't go very far, just wanted to get a feel for it today.

An Indigo Bunting looks majestic as fuck in a tree.

Soon enough it'll be Buntin' Huntin' season! These Indigo Bunting are my favorite. They're beautiful, but they're difficult to photograph because they love to hang out high in trees.
Don't worry, I don't hunt them with a gun, I hunt them with a Canon.

That's beautiful! Indigo Bunting is my favorite, but they're difficult to photograph well because they love to be high up in the trees. I've never seen a snow bunting, I'll have to see if they're in my area.

Quick photoshoot this morning of my breakfast. The recipe is for the pretzel bagels, but we set up a fancy breakfast sandwich shot to include. This is actually pretty typical of what I eat in the morning, except I normally put the toppings inside of the omelet to keep it neater and easier to eat.

I'm ashamed to see something like this, but sadly, not surprised.
H5N1 is real, obviously.
It's going to be a big problem for humans, both with direct human to human transmission, as well as a major impact to our food sources.
So, get ready.

Elro, Morgoth, and Panthro snuggle in my lap almost every evening as we watch some TV. At first it's comfortable, but once I get up to use the bathroom I have to squeeze back in and it's not comfortable but it sure is cute!
