Never thought it’d be so soon but PROJECT HAIL MARY is the first GREAT movie of 2026. A cosmic display of heartfelt, comical, intelligent and awe-inspiring filmmaking from Phil Lord & Chris Miller. Ryan Gosling is terrific in this.

As much as I want to post the phone or Scranton airport scene from Home Alone, in my mind, this scene from Home Alone 2: Lost In New York displays the range the best in which Catherine O’Hara demonstrates desperation as a mother trying to find her son (again) to fantastic comedic chops.
