My dudes that carry on full phone convos in airport bathrooms.

Why? I don’t know anyone I need to speak to with the cacophony of urinal and toilet flushes in the background. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

On Earth Day, I tried to do my part in the hotel. Instead of a disposable coffee cup, I requested they dispense coffee directly into my travel mug that is ever present in my laptop bag. They declined. Coffee is spilled on my sweater. I tried.

I did the same last evening. Will do again today. Went to a locally-owned restaurant for breakfast this morning, showed my gratitude for their service and empathy for our city. Will also eat at a local establishment for lunch and repeat. It's my favorite city in the US.

And of course the spirit moved me this morning, to devastation. Krona now sources their pastries from Cardigan. Good sweets, but that Cruller was spectacular.

It’s not life-affirming, but it tickles my fancy. The French Cruller at Krona Cafe in Northstar Center salves my soul when the spirit moves me. It is soft and sweet, just delightful.

So the USPS is so concerned about my package they call me from the Philippines. I am crazy impressed.

I had somebody compliment my shaggy grey hair. It made me smile. I am easily flattered.

People love Elf for many reasons, mostly because of Will Ferrell’s brilliance. Me? I watch for @zooeydeschanel.bsky.social. If Susie Farris the casting director is responsible, thank you!

My taste is more than eclectic. Playlists are pure musical whiplash. This is why I like to drive. Roadtrip Rule #1. The driver chooses the music.

Anecdotally, I watched my X feed shift to full-on pro-Mango Mussolini in the weeks leading up to the election. Elonia was heavily featured (not followed). Tik Tok post Election Day has shifted to Pro-Mango content as well. 🪫

Observing human behavior at MCO: with the plethora of alternatives as well as the free handout option of headphones on many flights, why are there people that wander around with their phones as boomboxes? You have shite music taste, Kyle, I don’t wanna hear it. I promise next post will be positive.

I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.

Today would have been Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. He wrote this in 1995. Carl was absolutely right. #CarlSaganDay

My wife was terrifyingly talented at this. I took note.

For a dyed-in-the-wool people pleaser this is exceedingly difficult. But in certain situations, easy peezy lemon squeezy.

Moxie. Needs to be encouraged now and again. 😉

Had date night at Forepaugh’s in St. Paul. What a lovely evening with my better half. Only pulled out my phone to validate a word definition. I focused my attention at being present. Amazing how therapeutic that time with her was. Great food, neat venue, knockout companionship.
