Brick punk: Alternative history where instead of USA becoming centralised around cars after ww2 they become obsessed with fortress and castle like Europe. It is common for people to live in miniature castles.

I like the way you think. Promoting you to management immediately
I never want to hear "We hear you" or "We're working to get this right" from a company when they roll out a bad change to their product. I want to hear "we unilaterally surrender," "we will acquiesce to the masses," "the employee responsible will be flayed within 24 hours"
I don't think jester privilege applies to the kind of jester you play in Darkest Dungeon, who's really more of just a serial killer wearing bells.
If you want jester privilege you have to be a contemptible little doofus, I'm sorry.
At this stage I'd prefer if people just started wearing fedpost in comic sans t-shirts

I often like to post a bunch of bullshit right before going to bed because waking up to 30+ notifs is super funny to me
It's a lil late in the evening, but the April update for #dowagerrpg (v0.04) is here! This one adds the Companion System I've been teasing, a 'build your own pet class' that took me as long to design as half of all the other classes.
Check it out!

New (slightly late) episode!!!
This time I'm sitting down with @rpdeshaies.farirpgs.com and @dngnclub.itch.io to talk about Breathless: Frightmare Edition!
iced tea and lemonade has basically replaced soda for me lately, it's good as hell. I like making my own lemonade with mint leaves sometimes too
I can think of a few games that are both at the same time too
There are two kinds of Xtreme ttrpg, Blow Your Dick Off Or Worse and You Can Touch a Vagina

Me going "Wow cool skeleton" as the skeleton shoots a "What everybody else sees in this thing" arrow straight over my head
I think I might just blame Mork Borg and call it a night hahaha. (I don't actually feel that strongly about Mork Borg, I just don't get the hype and to me it seems like the world's most okay game that's more popular than God.)
This is just my own aesthetic and rhetorical preference. I don't even really know if this is what the thread I'm quoting was about. Making up silly words to sell your genre and aesthetic just comes off to me as being eager to prove yourself, which ultimately I don't think is very punk or freaky.
You look at the art used in its promotion, you look at screenshots, you read a store page, and the game basically speaks for itself. I like it when art does this. If Fear & Hunger sold itself as, I don't know, Despairpunk Berserkcore Post-Dungeoncrawl Anti-RPG For Sick Fucks, I'd roll my eyes a bit.
Fear & Hunger is a horror dungeon crawler set in the dark and hopeless dungeons of fear and hunger. The game is a hybrid of survival horror and dungeon crawler genres with its influences ranging from Silent Hill to Nethack. There are roguelike elements to the game as well as a heavy foundation of a j-RPG.
Fear & Hunger is a really popular indie horror game that blew up in the last few years. In terms of explicit content, it's pretty extreme- I pitch it to folks as a game with essentially "all the content warnings", but the description on its steam store page uses fairly plain, matter of fact language
If Sam is talking about a specific game I don't know which one it is. I try to abide by a "never vaguepost ever" rule for social media, and in this instance I don't really want to call on a random person in the ttrpg scene as an example, so I'll use a popular videogame to make my point.
Maybe the joke is going over my head or I'm just not picking up on the irony in this thread, but personally I feel like a lot of maximalist language in advertising usually falls flat and doesn't grip me. It's like, "Are you really cool if you always go around telling people how cool you are?"
On the other hand, I have been to a real castle before (Dracula's, in fact) and they are essentially just very cozy cabins with stone walls around them. It's not a bad place to live!
I am afraid of heights ๐ฅ But I think wearing chainmail would make dissociating more fun.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. My friends are my power, and giving me six dollars occasionally means you ARE my real friend. On the internet. โ๏ธ๐
As usual, if you are unable to or don't feel like pitching in to check out the PDF in its current state, I'll still be posting teasers here on bluesky and longer blogposts on my tumblr, sinabsentia.blog.
This is a bit of a small update, because I omitted a few things to just make sure Companions are more or less 100% ready. I'm shifting release schedule so that new versions of Dowager drop at the start of the month instead of the middle, so v0.05 in two weeks will feature everything I cut from this.

I don't really care for villain monologues. If the antagonist is just going off about something fantastical and abstract like ushering in a thousand years of darkness I am just going to shoot. I'll only listen if there's real drama and substance, not saturday morning cartoon stuff.
