this is why I always encourage my students to not just do things, but really engage with them. there’s a world of a difference between having TV on while you’re doomscrolling and having a watch party with friends followed by a lively discussion 💖
I’ve been reflecting on my life in terms of gender and just how much of it I both owe to + blame on the norms that influence my womanness, norms I simultaneously accept and reject, consciously and subconsciously.
