The sun sets over Vienna on the last day of #lps25 - a more relaxed day ending earlier than usual (and a bit less hot outside). Lots of cool science presented here over the last few days, with various new insights for my own research. See you at the next edition 3 years from now! ;)
Sadly, it's the final day of @esa.int #LPS25 in Vienna. There are are still lots of interesting sessions to attend, including talks by @julietbiggs.bsky.social and Luke Bateson (@bgs.ac.uk) on using AI for monitoring natural hazards, @ednadualeh.bsky.social and Camilla Medici. Full schedule below:
Day 4 of @esa.int Living Planet Symposium 2025 #LPS25
Join us at the poster session later today to learn about preparations for the upcoming Harmony mission with @julietbiggs.bsky.social @bristolvolcanology.bsky.social and deep learning methods for interseismic observations with Kun Jiang.
Day 3 at #lps25 wrapped up! Lots of COMET talks and posters to seeβ¦. and a little COMET group photo of those we could gather during the focaccia break. On to day 4 now!
Day 3 of @esa.int #LPS25 in Vienna is in full flow! At 11.30am we have two talks by @timwrightleeds.bsky.social and
Camila Novoa Lizama from @envleeds.bsky.social. At 4.15pm Erin Mills @bgs.ac.uk is presenting and, after that session, there will be lots of COMET posters to see. More info below:
Day 2 at #lps25: a busy poster session (with drinks and snacks provided..), a swim in the Donau between sessions, more natural hazard sessions, and to wrap up the day: a shared COMET and @cpom-uk.bsky.social dinner that took over half of a restaurant. See you tomorrow for moreβ¦!
***COMET Scientist @geoandyhooper.bsky.social will be speaking on behalf of @yassermaghsoudi.bsky.social at 14.00 today.***
It's day 2 of @esa.int #LPS25 in Vienna. At 2pm today COMET Scientist @yassermaghsoudi.bsky.social will be speaking about the "Development of an InSAR Phase Bias Correction Processor". You will also find two @envleeds.bsky.social PhD research posters in the poster hall from 5.45pm. More info below:
It's been a great start to the @esa.int Living Planet Symposium 2025! #lps25 If you're in Vienna, join us at the poster session this afternoon (see below) and to hear about "Routine Global Volcano Monitoring Using Sentinel-1 Data and the LiCSAlert Algorithm", presented by @geoandyhooper.bsky.social
Breakfast in Leeds, second breakfast in London, lunch in Brussel, sweet treat (ice cream!) in Frankfurt, late dinner in Vienna! And no delays all day - would recommend this train journey π
We spotted flixtrains (not buses!)
On to #lps25 starting tomorrow with workshops. Now itβs time to sleepβ¦ π΄
The sun rises early over Leeds on the longest day of the year as we set off from the train station towards Vienna for ESAβs Living Planet Symposium #lps25 ππ
The coming week, I (Stijn Vleugels, Uni of Leeds) will be taking over the COMET socials to give you a firsthand experience of the conference!
We are delighted to celebrate two outstanding
@uk-comet.bsky.social Scientists, Professor Marie Edmonds @cambridge-earthsci.bsky.social and Professor
@davidmpyle.bsky.social (@ox.ac.uk), elected Fellows of the Royal Society this year: royalsociety.org/news/2025/05... π
