Just had our biggest doorknocking weekend.

Thank you to the 127 doorknockers (yep - you read that right) who invited people back into their democracy this weekend.

This is people-powered politics, and it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of 🌟.

We need change that’s rooted in community needs, not what plays well in Canberra.

This election, we are voting for people, not political parties – we're voting independent.

And we finally want serious climate change – an end to new coal projects and a boost to renewable energy and storage.

We've had enough of a two-party system that has failed us. We want local leadership, not party politics.

We want affordable childcare that's good for the economy and our kids. We want to fix the housing crisis by turbocharging construction and giving first-home buyers a leg-up. We want to increase supermarket competition so Coles and Woolworths lower their prices.

We're advocating for serious reforms to the structural economic problems this country faces – and an end to the embarrassing political games the major parties keep playing.

Well, my community has noticed, and we're taking matters into our own hands. After 75 years of one political party holding power in Bradfield, we are standing up. We now have over 1,000 volunteers, have knocked on 10,000 doors, and have held over 100,000 conversations.

The bar has fallen so low for the major parties that they're both hoping voters won't notice how little they're offering and just vote for the one they dislike the least.

We are weeks out from a federal election and neither major party has offered any serious solutions to housing affordability, climate change or rising grocery bills and energy bills.

This #IWD2025, I’m not just reflecting on the progress we’ve made. I’m taking action. I have a three-phase approach to address this.

This issue isn’t just a policy debate; it’s personal. I know so many women and families who are working harder than ever but still struggling to make ends meet, simply because our system isn’t built to support them. It’s not fair, and we have the solutions to do better.

When parents, especially women, are locked out of the workforce due to childcare costs, it affects productivity, household income, and the opportunity to grow retirement savings. The economy suffers, and frankly, so do our future generations.

This is not just a policy issue; it’s a fundamental matter of fairness and equality for women, families, and children.

The current system isn’t working -  it’s leaving working women and our entire economy behind.

This International Women's Day, I feel pride and frustration — at the same time. Today, we celebrate how far we've come, but we cannot ignore the long road ahead—especially when it comes to issues like accessing early childhood education.

Somewhere along the way, political parties shifted from doing what’s best for communities and this country to maintaining power at all costs.

Attended a very moving #IWD lunch at Hornsby Kuringgai Women’s Shelter today. In 2024, police were called to a family violence incident every minute. This is horrifying. We can end gender-based violence, but it takes political courage. Time to turn promises into progress.
