Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Petals&Perches any bird with flowers in capture. So here is an Atlantic Puffin (Fratercula arctica) taken out on the Isle of May National Nature Reserve off the east coast of Scotland.

Went out late afternoon to see if I could find some of our local Brown Hares (Lepus europaeus) in nearby fields. Crops are growing giving them more cover to conceal themselves. Some more approachable than others. #Hares #Mammals #Nature #Photography #Nikon

Same hare as in the first shot. That was a close as it was going to let me get.

This one was sitting just the other side of a hedge only a few feet away.

A bit of a Mexican standoff with this one but it was comfortable to tolerate me. Lovely animals.

Thank you very much, really pleased you found them of interest. They belong to a fairly large group of bugs known as shieldbugs. There are about 10 common species. Some are specialised to one plant and vary in colour often to blend in with their particular plant. Thanks for commenting. David πŸ‘

Highland Cattle. I met this little guy on a hot day trying to cool off by taking a dip in Loch Rusky. That wonderful shaggy coat is great for our Scottish winters but not so good for the summer. #Photography #Nikon #Scotland

Not sure how much they can see through that fringe. Very good natured animals.

Spotted a fox out on one of the islands in Duddingston Loch today. Staring at geese out of reach on the water and searching in the reeds for nesting birds I imagine. Eventually settled down to sleep. Suspect it does it's real hunting out there after dark. #Foxes #Nature @scotwildlife.bsky.social
