First time playing #Battletech Aces, and my wife's first time playing any form of Battletech. Anyway, safe to say the Jade Falcon's Locust IIC had a Very Bad Time

Finished speed painting some scrappy looking Falcons for Scouring Sands. Now on to my next bad idea.

The Sturmfeur turrets refused to come off so I'll just have to work around them

They just about fit in my display case. The dropship was painted a year ago before I switched my paint scheme (wasn't happy with how the Mauler and Valk looked on the table at the tournament) so the blue is different but it's not a big deal.

Four squads of IS Standard BA. Hard to take a good picture on my phone, but did what I could. I noticed afterwards one of the troopers has basing goop on their shoulder. Oops. Added it to my snagging list to fix at some point.

More scouts, but some of the punchier ones. The Jackalope cockpit looks like Magneto's helmet, and the Gunsmith cockpit looks like a Xenomorph. The Firefly sculpt is brilliant and I'd have more of them if I could. Havoc rounds it out as a very dangerous backstabber.

Indirect fire lance. I wanted two big anchors and then some more mobile mechs. I like a lot of the later Hellspawn variants. The Valkyrie is the C variant which I paired with the Mauler in the Mercs tournament last year. It's a nasty one, give it a go people!

Scout lance. The Wolfhound is from the Kell Hounds box which has the Uziel's Aces CO pilot card.

Brawler lance to get all up in your business. I've loved the Penetrator ever since the cover art of Measure of a Hero. The new Nightsky sculpt is also beautiful.

I'll be honest, this lance was due to my love of the Legionnaire from the old Clickytech days, the old Sagittaire TRO cover art, the Templar from MW4 Mercs, and because the Chameleon looks like the Templar's little sidekick

Direct fire lance. In this household we're big fans of Carl Friedrich Gauss.

A support/troubleshooting lance with a Marauder II picked out by my wife and a King Crab for my daughter

First up we have the Uziel's Aces command lance. Featuring the now notorious Mauler which I used at the UKGE 2025 Mercs tournament.

It's an entire battalion of my merc unit, Uziel's Aces (see pinned post). Going to be using them in ilClan campaign stuff, been using some of them half painted already in Hotspots Hinterlands and currently looking forward to Draconis Reach in May

Putting together a list for a 300pt Alpha Strike tournament with my sum total experience of two games, and rapidly realising I don't know enough to make good decisions. Instead I'm going with a vibes based approach of "which models look cool" and I'll figure out how to make it work once we start

Did a very silly 900pt vs 900pt game today with some friends

I cannot recommend the IWM Hierofalcon enough by the way. Very very nice sculpt of a very silly mech. I went with the -B because splatting someone with 36 SRMs tickles my lizard brain in a very pleasing way

Haven't posted for a while, work has been very very busy and I've had family stuff to deal with. Still, managed to arrange an Alpha Strike day with some friends for this weekend and began setting up the map

Been away at a wedding so slow progress, but this is how far I've got with applying the gold. Once that's done I'm going to varnish it to flatten out the shine (imo gloss shiny paint doesn't make sense on a mech) then I can do all the metallics which I want to be shiny. Aim is to be done end of Nov

Yes, this feels like an entirely sensible sized painting batch and not the work of a mad man.

Going to be a long time before I get all of these finished, but it gives me a full Merc battalion to use.

Been away on holiday and been ill for a bit, so this has taken quite a while to finish. Ourse Keshik dropship is now done though!

Next job is to base the Elementals. After that, it's either work on my "lance/star from each House/Clan" or paint more of my Mercs for actually playing with

I'll probably use the same blue for some highlighting around the dropship, like the little chevron looking bits on the...egg rim? Whatever you call that part.

Oh, you'll also note there's a little Eris hiding in the corner! First time I've had to assemble a mini, and I am *not* good at it

A friend came over for dinner last night and we decided to do some mini painting while eating Percy Pigs and having a chat. He was painting some of his Nemesis kickstarter aliens, while I go to work on my Ourse Keshik dropship. I decided to go for the blue struts to make it pop a bit

I'm still incredibly happy and shocked that my unit got canonised, especially given that it fits with the ideas I had all that time ago. Maybe one day I'll sit down and write up a proper unit history for them, even if it's just for my own enjoyment.

What happens next? Who knows, but I like to think that the Aces picked up some of the remnants of shattered commands from the brutal fighting on Taygeta, building back up to company strength for the battle of New Avalon and then fighting alongside the Dawn Guards once more
