Thank you! Having recorded this for Naxos, our London Chamber Ensemble Quartet are playing this 23.5 at the English Music Festival with Howells, Delius & launching our new Charles Wood String Quartets 💿 which all started 🙏 to @herberthowells.bsky.social
I often perform Tailleferre Berceuse (violin & piano) as an encore too. Check out @carolinefrmus.bsky.social book
Interesting. 1926 is also the year Irish born composer Charles Wood died and we’re hoping that our Lindon Chamber Ensemble 1st recordings of his string quartets will make this fine music better known. It’s often infused with Irish folk tunes.
My London Chamber Ensemble has performed both the Tailleferre String Quartet and the Piano Trio both worthwhile. I chose the quartet for our concert at the V&A for the Chanel exhibition. Fun fact, she had exactly the same dates as Herbert Howells, the other side of the channel (1892-1983)

I’ve enjoyed performing in both St David’s and Hoddinott Halls but it’s good to be reminded by Stephen Walsh: “Cardiff’s St David’s Hall being currently out of action, the orchestra (BBCNOW), is playing its regular concerts in the much smaller Hoddinott Hall”.
Good to see this including @baronesskeeley.bsky.social who has been so supportive of the Arts
Yes, thank you. It’s the piece that initiated my London Chamber Ensemble years ago. We recorded the work and played it at the BBC Proms etc. It’ll be so interesting seeing the companion play by @jessicaduchen.bsky.social in the first half. This has footage of Stalag VIII youtu.be/XnAADx4o3ok?...
We loved playing Mel Bonis piano trio pieces recently
Wonderful! We can probably arrange a lift for you, at least afterwards to the nearest station, Walton-on-Thames with quite a good service back to Waterloo

Renowned opera singer Stuart Burrows dies at 92.
I was deeply honoured to receive the Stuart Burrows Award from the Welsh Music Guild last year ‘for significant promotion of Welsh music’. RIP a great lyric tenor. www.bbc.com/news/article...
