We got a warning flyer last week that the building's water main would be replaced but it lacked a date when work would begin.

Work began this morning. It's soooo loud. 😭 I live in earplugs or earbuds 24/7 anyway, so there's not much I can do beyond that.

That's cool to know! I think "sweet water" is a more archaic term. I see "fresh water" as the more common opposite to "salt water" these days.

The first time I encountered the concept of "sweet water" was in the Chronicles of Narnia, and child-me assumed it meant water that literally tasted sweet. (It's actually just the opposite of salty, ie ocean, water, which is disappointingly boring.)

Different building, same company. They offered the move because they couldn't control smokers in the old building. So far that's actually worse in this one, but management is nicer at least?

I've seen pics from massive remodels of NY brownstones that show absolute HEAPS of them. Like a horror movie! 😱

Part of yesterday's setup was getting out Chessie's giant scratcher and setting her elevated cat bed against the corner windows, and she's so happy about it!

...workable for the week, including setting up power stations and moving the stuff I dumped in the entryway yesterday so I can actually get in and out, lol. Then a nice bath, and ideally clean clothes and sheets if I can find them! 😹

I've decided that, at least for this coming work week, I'm going to leave the furniture I put in the bedroom yesterday and work like this. We'll see how it goes. This may be my last week of the contract, so I'll have time when it ends to rearrange if I want to. So today I'll be making the setup ->
