We landed on one of my personal all-time favorites for #RandomGameSaturday, ESPN Extreme Games. Longbox style before losing the license, removing the insufferable (but also dearly beloved) Suzy Coburn FMV and before it was rebranded as 1Xtreme

SOMEHOW Capcom mashed together Ghosts 'n Goblins with The Incredible Machine in 1996 and my favorite part is this 'stage clear' animation

Following yesterday's post, here's the even more striking 2nd part of the intro to Community Pom showing some of its top-down action-RPG gameplay. The pan to the sun/lensflare at the end is just perfection!

A gorgeous 2D vignette sets the stage for Fill-In Cafe's 1997 RPG, Community Pom. Alien Poms from the moon influence heroine Luru and the bullied warlock-wannabe Shiviel, setting up the conflict as Luru fights for what's right

Niiiiice! It's one I found not too long ago and wish I could just read it withiut hassle. Did not know about it's 50 endings, wow!
Gran Turismo 2 (1999)
Specifically, the icon you get if you save a race replay video

I managed to get it complete for about $30, totally reasonable. Good huntin'!
I'm still working on a guide for Cyber Egg. The game is pretty simple and short and doesn't really *need* a guide. But man, the lo-fi/low-poly PS1 vibes, vibrant colors, fast movement, and great music just make for a FUN game to play

I'd forgotten that they re-release it without the demo. It also got a Greatest Hits version so there are probably a lot more copies without the demo
I forgot until you mentioned that. They did re-release it without the demo disc, probably once RE2 was out
My hand landed on Resident Evil Director's Cut for #RandomGameSaturday. Capcom, can I use the rebate towards RE2 Remake or...?

Ah ha, you are right, it was the first game. It's been so long since I played them, stages and characters are all jumbled together in my head

Omg yes! And I think it was her stage where there end up being huge streams of candies flying everywhere by the end? That was glorious!
Ya know, I just realized that while making this post! Released between Jumping Flash 2 and Pocket MuuMuu. Kinda makes perfect sense

Shorty was always my fave. Love that series!
I get this a LOT checking for memory card icons. I only usually need to play for a few minutes but get that "what if" feeling frequently
I need to run through it again, I remember really liking it but haven't touched it in almost 30 years now. Still felt great while capturing some video this weekend
RIPTO, no wait, Su-pa-i-ro
Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Volume 3 Issue 1, page 90
I was just suddenly taken aback by the stylized katakana version of the original Spyro logo on the Japanese box. I missed that this logo was the origin story for Ripto's name in Spyro 2!

Fans of Sheep Raider and other surprise PS1 EDM, take note! The whole soundtrack is great but Assault Rigs goes surprisingly hard on DnB/breakbeat for the sole purpose of showing your score on this gem-filled screen ๐๐ง
