For years i've been making examples of automated #Accessibility using axe-core and I have had various little reporting utils I have made to showcase the data.

I have started to put them together in one spot. It's not ready yet for NPM but soon!

Accessibility Snapshot Testing in iOS Snapshot testing is a popular type of regression testing that a lot of development teams are unaware...

I am finding that the iOS Snapshot library is SUPER power for #Accessibility testing.

You can literally see the #A11y tree for an application and find if it changes overtime to identify issues really quickly. Super powered if you know how to use it!

Does focus move into the modal, does focus move back to the trigger, does focus stay in the modal. It is really powerful to have these tests to ensure that functionality remains

One of the things I have been jamming with lately, is how much developers can write regression tests to ensure their content is accessible and REMAINS accessible.

It is really powerful what you can do. One of the most simple ones i have is modals:

“The accessibility teams at universities are frequently the most dedicated to making the institutions a welcoming and inclusive place," says O'Connor, who is blind. "But they have no budget, no people, and no authority."

- ain’t that a quote of all quotes to summarize #Accessibility

Cognitive load refers to how much working memory or short-term memory someone is using at a time. Minimizing the cognitive load it takes to use your site makes it more accessible for people with cognitive disabilities. Limit what you're asking users to remember to use your site.

Trump promised to end the Russia-Ukraine war in 24 hours. It's still raging a year later.

Accessibility Regression Testing With XCUI The question often asked in the mobile development community is, "I want to be able to add...

Want to get some automated #Accessibility testing for your iOS application?

Then make use of the XCUI testing library that uses the same rule as the #A11y inspector in XCode and build better regression tests!

Lots of great quotable lines from @deque's Axe-con, including this gem from @stephaniewalter.bsky.social: "You can't sprinkle eggs on the cupcake after baking it. Fixing accessibility later is messy, slow, ineffective!"

Accessibility.snapshot() method | Puppeteer Captures the current state of the accessibility tree. The returned object represents the root accessible node of the page.

Messing with some interesting stuff today. Puppeteer has an accessibility snapshot option. Its really cool that a testing framework lets you see the whole #Accessibility tree and you can write tests off of it. So dope!

I have done this before for some of my workshops, but I need a quicker manner to do it, and hoping by doing this I can locate some of the common issues. Not all, as I would be using automated libraries to run regression scripts

Currently working on a project that will be able to scan multiple applications and get a “heat check” for basic mobile #Accessibility issues.

The idea is similar to WebAIM, to find what the common issue are across a multitude of apps and report the data
