Luxon’s attempt to refocus the media is constitutionally misplaced. Confidence is the lifeblood of government. And the media have a legitimate interest in interrogating changing dynamics in confidence.

I reckon he begged to be allowed to leave and they voted to keep him in against his will so he’d have to take the L.

When Labour releases its election manifesto, it also needs to give us the list of terrible legislation this term that it intends to reverse.

Something has to keep us warm this winter since power is so expensive - schadenfreude is toasty.

Gutted it’s Hipkiss’s turn to interview Luxon tomorrow, not Campbell’s. Would have been marvellous.

Until Hipkins categorically rules NZF out we have to assume he considers them a legit option to get into power and Peters will consider Labour a legit option to hold onto power.

Why mission-led funding is mission impossible

Comment from Auckland University: A science system focused only on outcomes risks becoming a Christmas tree with no roots – pretty to look at, but destined not to last.

'Everything is linked': The unexpected way the flu jab could save your life Experts say getting your influenza vaccine this season could slash your risk of a heart attack or stroke.

There’s a long article on stuff about how flu vaccine reduces heart attacks and strokes and the shingles vaccine reduces dementia. Neither are accessible/funded. This small investment could save NZ a lot of $$ in the long term but our government is in the business of punishing people for existence.

I genuinely think Microsoft Teams is the worst piece of software I have ever, ever used in my almost half-century on the planet.

What's that? I have an unread message somewhere? Cue a lost half hour as Teams gleefully buries it beneath endless menus and STILL not fucking find it.

@tiwaiwaka.bsky.social’s memoir is a must read if you’re up for something challenging AND hopeful or work in our health system. I read it in 2 sessions over Easter (would have been 1 but I had to put it down to host visitors). Many “I remember that” moments from her sharing over at the other place.
