Neighbours in the Sandford St area of Salford clubbed together after the First World War to provide a memorial for the men of the neighbourhood who died.
Photographed here October 1961.
Sadly, the Imperial War Museum have designated it as "lost".

13 April 1872 Samuel Bamford died. He had been imprisoned for protesting for voting reform at the Manchester meeting which became the Peterloo Massacre.
His grave/memorial in Middleton Parish Church graveyard
