If you have a library close by see if they have a group, they usually welcome newcomers. And at the very least you might pick up a book on crochet, if you learn that way.

Our Science Fiction book club recently read A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine.
They said "This was a diplomatic space drama with very strong characters and worldbuilding. Everyone was very impressed."

Good morning Bluesky, what is everyone #reading today? I have just finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, read by Ray Porter.
If you've read The Martian then this is a similar style, science fiction with lots of problems solved by thinking and scientific experiments. Very enjoyable
