What is something that is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

Illustration pay has not kept up with inflation. We get paid approximately the same dollar amount as an illustrator in the early 2000s. Some of the big companies are the worst for this.

Been neck deep in deadlines this week. It's either nothing or everything all at once. Honestly though, after a lot of time with no work, I welcome this.

I used Uber and it was just to and from the airport. There's a mall across the street from the hotel/conference venue. :)

Uber is pricey but if you can coordinate to meet up with someone at the airport then you can split costs. :)

I've been watching videos on tiktok about that all and I truly am shocked at how bad it was. Nothing prepared me for what was shown and I'm surprised the organizer didn't do anything to make it better either.

Artists feel pressured to make new art too quickly at the moment. Normalise artists fucking disappearing for months. Just walk off into the woods for a year and come back with a single sketch. It’s good for you
