Beautiful, relaxed, happy shot of Victoria Wood, taken by the great Don Smith for Radio Times in 1994. Much missed. #legend #VictoriaWood @radiotimes.bsky.social

If you’re following @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social's run of excellent early #ZCars (starring @brianblessed.bsky.social), there are 20 missing episodes (a five-month chunk) between last week’s Nov 1962 ep and this week’s April 63 ep. If you’re curious about cast changes...
Very good.
Jeremy Kemp left as PC Bob Steele in January 1963 and Colin Welland's PC Graham became Bert Lynch/James Ellis's oppo. Sadly none of Leonard Rossiter’s 8 eps as DI Bamber are known to exist. Rare @radiotimes.bsky.social pix by Don Smith serve as a record. #ZCars @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social
The actor Leonard Williams (Sgt Twentyman) had died suddenly in 1962 and was soon replaced by Robert Keegan as Sgt Blackitt. These rare @radiotimes.bsky.social photos by Don Smith of Williams (with @brianblessed.bsky.social as Fancy & Terence Edmond as Sweet) were taken a week before he died. #ZCars

Mary Morris in The Thief of Bagdad.

As we count down to the release of You Are Not Alone: A Gay History of Doctor Who, we’re highlighting some of the book's key personalities and interviewees. This week, it’s screen actor and artist Mary Morris, seen here in the 1940 film The Thief of Bagdad…
Good spot, David. I like that they have the recent RT front cover and even more recent shoot (13 Jan) by Don Smith on the desk.
The late great #TerranceDicks - born today in 1935. Here he is aged c 35, enjoying a day in the #DoctorWho production office with Barry Letts and Sandra Brenholz. Photographed in 1970 for @radiotimes.bsky.social
Plus an email that amused me a few years ago. #bland
Drawn to #DoctorWho... Happy birthday to fan turned 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi. Photographed by Richard Grassie for @radiotimes.bsky.social 🎂🌟 @stuartmanning.bsky.social
Terrance Dicks.
Today, we're remembering prolific writer Terrance Dicks, born on this day in 1935 and an inspiration to generations of readers and TV viewers. Later this year, we'll be publishing Terrance's first authorised biography, written by @0tralala.bsky.social.
Her ethereal voice haunted and charmed me since 1982. Clannad’s farewell concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2024 was unmissable.

An example of Douglas Camfield's attention to detail, in 1965 writing quite a tall order for avant-garde composer Tristram Cary. It includes one of the earliest character sketches of Katarina. Also a nice early instance of the serial's overarching title. #DoctorWho
Cheers Paul. He'd only directed a handful of Whos and a couple of episodes of Swizzlewick, some odd-sounding BBC drama about a Midlands town council. He also had writing credits in the early 60s and of course worked as a PA to Waris and such. What vision and control he had.

Wonderful. Was right there with my dad and my sister.

The mag was more about the visuals. The Executioners had a mere four lines and Mission to the Unknown was allotted more than that and DMP put together.
Remembering how for several years The Daleks' Master Plan was shrouded in mystery for those who hadn't seen it. And it was a 12-ep serial called The Nightmare Begins, according to Radio Times's sketchy synopsis in 1973. The original photo "trim" of Nick Courtney from the RT Archive here. #DoctorWho
Lynda La Plante and Lesley Judd popped up briefly in tonight's 1962 #ZCars @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social
I know. It was like unearthing ancient scrolls.
I remember reading this; it really did feel as if you were speaking with someone from a bygone age. When her episodes were only actually as far back in time as Billie Piper's original run is now.
