Two small paperbacks next to each other, both Doctor Who Target novelisations by Terrance Dicks: "The Destiny of the Daleks," which shows a man with a mop of curly hair and a scarf looking thoughtful surrounded by daleks; and "Four to Doomsday" which shows a man in edwardian cricketing garbage in front of an alien humanoid creature sitting on a throne-like chair.

The author in a cosy, but unseasonal-looking cricket jumper

I thought this jumper might come with a free “pleasant, open face”

Alas, my friends, it did not

What I have is most charitably described as “a face”

Kinda is possibly the only televised Doctor Who to get this butchered by its own novelization. Dicks either didn't understand Bailey's script or couldn't care less.

New read: thanks to Doctor Who Magazine, I'm finally reading one of the more difficult to get hold of novelisations. Excellent fun.
