This whole Discord ID verification mass exodus is why people think countries like Brazil or the UK (especially!) are draconian Orwell dystopias, but in reality, it's not the govt's fault. It's the parents' faults for letting their children roam free on the web and causing this nonsense.

As for IRC, I gladly agree with a certain redhead who's into retro shit (like me). Unless it's related to specific types of projects (like multiplayer launchers), IRC is pretty much a dying niche, simple as. There's a reason why Discord became popular, despite all the naysayers being old timers.

As someone who was stupid enough to interact with imageboards, I'm gonna say that most of them are either rowdy individuals who are phobic to the core, or in the case of one imageboard that ended up costing me friendships, sick pervs who post (and in most cases) endorse fictional CSAM.

The fact that people have the balls to call Discord "[common transphobe word]cord" on sites like GameDate literally demonstrate how having a site without moderation can literally lead to 4channers to infest the site who would dogpile you every time you don't link to dying niches like IRC.
