The camera made the 'record' sound, had the red tally ring around the monitor like it was recording, made the 'stop recording sound' when I hit the button again.
SD card: I've never seen this camera before in my life.

Luckily, I'm used to being screwed by tech, so I also connected the camera to my capture card and recorded to OBS. That seems to have worked. But for the time being, I don't seem to have a camera that can actually work as a camera, and have no idea why.
Feeling better after some fish and chips and beer, I re-tested my A7 III. BRAND NEW SD CARD. Tested battery, AC Adapter, exposure settings, audio settings, etc.
Recorded for 75 minutes.
Put the SD card in the PC.... AND IT'S FUCKING BLANK AGAIN!!!?!?!?!?!??!!
Tried to record a video this morning, and my Sony A7 IV just DIED. Straight up dead. No lights, no noise, nothing.
Set up my backup A7 III, tested everything, and recorded for over an hour. Put the SD card in the PC, and THERE'S NO FILE!
Thus, the trip to the taphouse.
Local taphouse has awesome doggo friendly outdoor seating. An emergency pint was very much needed.
Doggo pets have commenced.
I don't know who or what in this universe hates me today, but FUCK YOU YOURE NOT GOING TO WIN!

Here's a happy doggo pic to make sure your day doesn't suck.
I'm a huge fan of @bazzite.gg , but I've had good experience with both.
I say break it 🤘
For AI workloads, the R9700 vs B70 will come down to software support for your use case.
For SR-IOV and bifurcation, AMD doesn't offer that feature. It's only available for their Mi-series Datacenter GPUs.
One exception is the Pro V710, which I have literally never seen in the wild.
THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!!!!!!

Can the Intel B70 Pro work as a cloud gaming server?
You already knew I'm going to try!
Let's confuse the hell out of the Steam Hardware Survey, shall we?
CPU: Epyc Turin 9965 192-Core with 48-Cores / 48-Threads
Memory: 64GB
GPU: Nvidia Tesla P4, configured as a P40-8Q
I love virtualization.
Little bit of a later show tonight, but Talking Heads starts in just 20 minutes. We've got Intel B70 benchmarks, Right To Repair talk, and of course, MOOOOOON!
Sit back, relax, and enjoy a late night talk of the week in tech.

“Oregonians have been voting by mail for decades. It’s safe and secure. Even the president does it. Vote by mail increases access to the ballot which is a cornerstone to our democracy, and we’ll use every legal tool available to us to fight this and protect Oregonians’ right to vote.”

Nothing like new server day at craft studios

Better serve me some fucking lobster alongside my $9 diesel!
I ride my bike around town. Plus we just got our second EV. Full electric in this house!
We had a couple pumps like that in Portland, and one about an hour south. Still, I'm seeing $6+ for Diesel here in Oregon already, and $5+ 87 octane gas. This is going to get so much worse.
Almost out of room on that sign. Probably never thought we'd hit double digits before it needed replaced.
If oil hits $175-200+ as many predict, we might need more than a 1 in front, too.
Huh... well that didn't last long.
I do content both for homelabs and businesses. And today's brand new servers are tomorrow's homelabs. The reason most people run homelabs is to learn, and part of learning is knowing what hardware is coming next. Just because you can't buy something today doesn't mean you shouldn't learn about it.
Testing has started on the Dual Epyc 192-Core Supermicro AS-2126HS-TN. Here's a preview :-)
You have no idea. I just installed an 11.5kW Level 2 charger for my cars too ⚡⚡⚡
This is maxing out my 20A circuit. I'm looking at installing 240v 30A :-)
