Recent work on the game engine includes trigger zones, billboards/sprites, frustum culling, and more. Next up is a graphics pipeline overhaul to allow for Forward+ rendering and post processing affects, followed by multithreading/jobs.

I suppose this was my main thing of 2025: I started work on not my first, nor my second, but my third and so far best attempt at a game engine. Physics, player character, completely scriptable. C++ and DX12. Jolt physics.

fun lua fact you can use the global random state to send data between two scripts ran by the same VM by setting the random seed in one, and in another (that gets executed after the first) doing math.random. quick hash map for rand result -> input and you can send up to an 8 byte string ๐
