Would anyone be willing to share an example of their year group weekly timetables with me please, with an explanation of time spent on each area. I am particularly keen on hearing from primary colleagues who work in disadvantaged areas. #eduskyprimary#edusky#UKEd

Curriculum and Assessment Review 'roadshow' events dates are now up: orcula.com/curriculum-a... Hope to see some of you there, and please do share
Thank you for replying. Do they include teaching videos from the primary classroom?
Is there anyone on here that would be able/willing to share any videos of good practise that I could unpick with my staff. Thank you! #edusky #eduskyprimary
I lead a small maintained school on a tight budget. One of our school development targets is formative assessment. Our first step is developing staff expertise in ensuring that all pupils are engaged in their learning, specifically through use of questioning e.g. cold calling.
I am delighted to have our panel announced, and to be working with such a fantastic group schoolsweek.co.uk/revealed-12-....
However at current school, which is very settled, with strong foundations and far less pressure for rapid change - absolutely not appropriate. All depends on context and need.
Booklets bring out strong emotions! When I was AHT in a struggling school that needed to make rapid improvements, they were brilliant. Really clear curriculum pathways which reduced the cognitive loads for staff who were dealing with lots of change through necessity. They could focus on enactment…

Six years ago, literally nobody asked me what my advice would be for new teachers starting in September.
So I told them.
And now, years later, still nobody has asked me.
So here it is again

Just posted new blog on Bluesky and not (yet) on Twitter. Be interesting to see engagement. Will I fold and put it on Twitter too? Please help me avoid the temptation by reposting here!

Reflecting on number 5 - we definitely need to remember to raise each other up. For the first time I am working in an entirely female workforce and my EHT is brilliant at this. The culture is therefore there -women championing and supporting each other.
We will be reviewing it very frequently though as we are only just starting full implementation with NCETM so it may evolve!
We are using the curriculum prioritisation as our starting point and then cross referencing with Oak National at the moment. I really like the pd materials and used them a lot in previous roles…
In my experience women have not always helped this situation. My husband and I both started teaching at the same time in the same school. He had a far easier time with older female members of staff than I did. As a leader I am hyper aware of this now.
1 - shocking maternity pay if you choose to have children
2 - huge childcare costs when you return to work
3 - lack of options for flexible working
As a young female teacher I had to work really hard to have my voice heard by older female colleagues as well as men.
Yes it is great…there was definitely a gap there for a while. NCETM is brilliant for developing subject knowledge but now having Oak National to support with resourcing it is really supporting workload.
We have been looking at Oak National for maths as well. I like the patter of the lesson structure. Am encouraging staff to focus on the enactment of the learning steps and use NCETM professional materials to support them with effective manipulative and representation use alongside Oak resources.
I would like to create a display in the main reception area with our core values and am looking for some inspiration. If anyone would be willing to share any displays that they have done of their school values I would be grateful 🙏 #EduSky#EduSkyPrimary #headteachersUK #UKed
Seven of diamonds -family favourite in our house. After that trumps.
The key thing is that following teachers know what you have done and why because they will have to adapt their planning moving forward to avoid gaps opening up. They can also ensure that they then make deliberate links to prior learning.
I would speak to the rest of your team and look at what objectives are down to be covered within the units which won’t be covered, if you adapt your planning. As long as staff members/subject leads are aware of this then adapting should be fine. Need to be responsive to the need in your class.
Could explain what you mean by topic please? Is it a mixture of different foundation subjects mashed together?
I am indeed 😊 yes we have we did some RE/SIAMs work together
Hi Sarah 👋 if you would be willing to share the PowerPoints you have made I would be really grateful. Thank you 🙏
I would choose two to start with 😊
1 - teacher recruitment and retention - unless you have a settled staff team with good wellbeing you won’t be able to develop anything.
2 - inclusion - this applies to SEND but also the diverse nature of our society as a whole.
Hello everyone 👋 looking forward to having lots of interesting discussions you on this platform. I am a Head of School at a lovely one form entry primary school #UkEd #EduSky #EduSkyPrimary
