A quick Google uncovered a bunch of celebs investing heavily in AI concerns or citing the false "AI is inevitable" and caving in. Kristen Bell? Tom Hanks? I used to admire these people. Smh.

What's with all the celebs coming out pro-ai lately??? Trying to pump up their investments?
@bsky.app what was the point of my choosing English in all three places in Settings???
And my love affair with her looks and talent ends - as if often the case with talented figures - when she opens her mouth and speaks.
I should do a giveaway here too!
I'll randomly select someone who retweets this to receive a signed copy of Daughter of Crows ๐

#2026reading
While mostly reading fantasy and science fiction, my go-to palate cleansers are usually military thrillers like DEAD EYE, 3rd in Mark Greaney's Gray Man series and my 17th read completed in 2026. (No one will have noticed but I skipped 16, a beta read that has no cover yet).
Hobbit rules rule! In my case I used to do giveaways Hobbit-style because I share a birthday with Bilbo and Frodo!
Guaranteed worthwhile read!

#2026reading
My 15th completed book of 2026 is Anthony Ryan's Queen of Fire (2015), book 3 in the Raven's Shadow Trilogy, aka the Blood Song trilogy. Part of my "read the rest of Ryan" campaign and the first novel series I've completed in a while. Still too many book 2's to read!

#2026Reading:
The 14th book I completed in 2026 is The Tower Lord by Anthony Ryan, book 2 in the Raven's Shadow Trilogy, first sequel to Blood Song, one of his very best.
As others have said, Sahara was a well acted, fun film that ignored a zillion details from the novel and Pitt series to the point it barely resembled the original. A great reminder that adaptations are always, um, adaptations. The one film I saw slavishly imitate it's original truly sucked, btw!

#2026Reading
Typically I read military thrillers like Mark Greaney's Ballistic (2011), third in his Gray Man series, very quickly (as I have with at least five others from this series) but for some reason I struggled with this one but now it's my 13th completed read of 2026. And back to fantasy...

The Enchantment Emporium (2009), book 1 of her Gale Women trilogy. Huff doesn't hold the reader's hand on this one but it's one of her most rewarding reads imo.
Oh, I have Silent City too! (And Last Winter Sun).
I'll certainly be reading more of him. Have you read The Stone Road? I just happen to have that sitting in my Kindle library from a long ago freebie download.

Just couldn't pass up a story that begins with the protagonist "convincing" a prison door to open for him!
Just re-read Blood Song and about to finish the series after I'm done with the arc I'm reading. Blood Song simply rocks - great great storytelling.

Nicola Griffith,
Hild (2013). This, along with the first sequel in the Hild Sequence, Menewood, comprises some of the best historical fiction I've ever read. 7th century Northumbria brought to vivid life.
