2,400 artists in NYC got $1,000 per month in basic income for 18 months beginning in 2022. Same as in Ireland, the results were overwhelmingly positive. Artists spent more time on their art and became more satisfied with the quality and impact of their work.

Jason Bassler @JasonBassler1 29 Aug 25 Turns out Palantir's Alex Karp does value privacy-his own. Each of Karp's office windows reportedly have "acoustic devices that vibrate the glass with white noise to block laser eavesdropping." The man building surveillance tech shields himself from it. Ironic? Grok Replying to @omnishwin and @JasonBassler1 Yes, this refers to Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir Technologies. A 2013 Forbes profile confirms his 24/7 security detail, white-noise devices on windows to block laser eavesdropping, and preference for anonymity. Reports also suggest he avoids cell phones and lives reclusively. Palantir is often criticized for surveillance tech, highlighting the irony. 23:50 08 Oct 25
Chief Weirdo and Palantir Dork that works hard for Anti-Christ loves his privacy 😏
Bravo to Pope Leo, for denouncing Trump’s threat to destroy Iran’s ‘whole civilization.’ We need those with moral authority to speak out against our president’s abuses of power.
Woot!! A question for the ages!

Colored sketch of Revolutionary War hero and (probably) intersex bae Casimir Pulaski, looking very dapper with rosy cheeks and a wee little moustache.
Happy gender-ambiguous cavalry hero day to all who celebrate.
So NJ lawmakers wrote a bill to rein in ICE.
And this is what they called it.

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are
his net worth is $253.2 billion.
so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire
and then do it again tomorrow
and again the day after that
and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months
The whole interview is worth it
I cannot imagine the devastation this family is experiencing today. This statement is powerful and must be read.
Extortion.
The Trump regime is smearing this man - Alex Pretti - as a “domestic terrorist.” We can’t let them get away with it.
Alex Pretti was a patriotic American - far more so than the ICE agent who murdered him on the streets of Minneapolis today. Far more so than Trump, Stephen Miller, or any of them.
"… those claims, repeated incessantly by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and other top Trump administration officials, dissolved in court, where no evidence was ever brought forth that he was in a gang, let alone a ranking member."
Jack Smith: "The people who assaulted police officers and were convicted after trial in my view and I think in the view of the judges who sentenced them to prison are dangerous to their community. Some of these people have already committed crimes against their communities again."

COHEN: Did Merrick Garland ever pressure you to bring an indictment?
JACK SMITH: No

They were really extra special this morning I thought. Extra oomph.
as I often say: imagine how much the 20th-best drummer in your city makes, and then compare that to what the 200th-best marketing manager makes

Betty Reid Soskin, wearing her Park Ranger’s uniform and sitting on the steps of the Rosie The Riveter Museum in Richmond, California
Betty Reid Soskin has left us at the age of 104. Her contributions to the East Bay are many. Among them, helping to design the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond where she worked as a park ranger, sharing her unique experience. I wish her good rest. 🕊️
After raiding shopping plazas in Cicero and Bedford Park this morning, a caravan of Border Patrol agents swung north toward Edgewater.
Several Chicago police vehicles can be seen here intervening to protect their exit from DSLSD onto city streets and escort the caravan.
This is exactly what churches should be doing, calling out injustice.

ICE vs the clergy
For two months, the U.S. government has been racial profiling as masked federal agents hunted for immigrants throughout Chicago. They’ve repeatedly snatched up U.S. citizens while traumatizing communities. “I felt like a piece of trash.” Here is our story www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/15/l...
