One of my aunts, who died last year at the age of 97, was utterly convinced that my great grandfather died at 104. I found that he was 93 (burial record accurate). I like to think that her belief led her to believe that she, too, could live a long life. We humans are so influenced by our beliefs.
I did the same. π
This rings true for me. ππ

Have arrived at the Tregothnan estate's open garden day in time for an ironic coffee. β Beautiful place, beautiful day. Thirty acres of beautiful gardens and maybe the tea plantation to see. π
Mine arrived in the post today. ππ
What a wonderful read! π
π So are these manicule emoticons? ππ
Oh, congratulations to them! What a moment! π₯°
Thank you, Julia. π
Thanks, Jane. π It's taken me a while to notice an early assumption, but I'm starting to get to grips with DNA research and that's helping. I've had fun doing the wrong research and now I get to do some more! π€£
My main genealogy goal at the moment is to correct the early mistakes made when my brain was still greatly affected by post-traumatic symptoms. Thank goodness I can think straight most of the time now, and can begin to use DNA to clarify things. Back to work on a major mistake! #genealogy
Thank you! It's been a very special time for our family. π
Yes. There is a picture that was taken for a short piece in the local newspaper. It featured my mother's paternal great grandfather, grandfather, father, my mother and my eldest brother. We were given a print and it's something to treasure.
Yes - sending a message to congratulate my daughter and son-in-law on the one week anniversary of their wedding, about half an hour from now. π°π€΅π₯°
Congratulations, Mark. π

How interesting, what a lovely tradition. And I see what you mean about overgrown churchyards.
I had to look this up. What a lovely thing to do and I bet you feel good for having done it. β―οΈπ
Happy #worldhealthday! ππͺ

It looks to have been a lovely day. π
Thanks, Jane. Same to you. After all the excitement of our family wedding, R and I are enjoying "Leaster" - no fuss but plenty of happiness. π
I totally agree, Paul.
Thank you, Lorna. π It was wonderful. π₯°
Thank you, Liz, we did. πEven the auntie who fell over dancing and sprained her wrist!
Flowers from my daughter's wedding yesterday, plus a small basket used by my granddaughter to sprinkle rose petals at the start of the ceremony.
A large flower arrangement used to decorate the table for the signing of the marriage register: roses, stocks, lisianthus, gypsophila, miscanthus, lagurus, eucalyptus of more than one kind, ruscus.
My daughter's wedding bouquet.
And now we're home, we have proof that it wasn't all just a dream...π₯°π₯°π₯° I will need to record the names of the flowers used, as best I can. The white stocks smell wonderful.
That's it exactly. π
This thought provoking article reflects my own outlook: Identity is closely bound up with personal experiences. For me, that includes things such as traumatic events, family size, birth order and an environment shaped by religious beliefs. Oh, and I should throw in gut health too, I guess. π
Ours - and I do mean ours - had a red top. A bright, garish, plasticky red.
